One of the many beautiful waterfalls on the island of Dominica. Hot baths, kind people and breathtaking hikes are the main interests of this island.
Finally made it, after a long walk, to the Freshwater lake in Dominica! A further one hour walk to go all around the lake, immersed in nature (on a very slippery path). One of the beauties of Nature Island
The entrance to this narrow rainforest slot canyon is dark and the water is cold, but it's well worth the adventure to swim on in and check out the waterfall at the back. The canyon is about 100ft (33m) long and ends where a small waterfall rushes in. The water is too deep for standing, and the current is pushing you out, so you'll be swimming upstream on the way in. You can rest on a rock ledge once you get to the falls. Don't forget to look up - ferns, vines and other leafy plants cascade into the canyon from far above. For you movie buffs, a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was filmed here. It happens around the 40 minute mark, after the pirates fall into a gorge while being chased by natives. Prima hotel, goeie locatie en prachtig uitzicht
Keurig hotel, wel met de nodige trappen. Onze oceanfront de luxe kamer was groot en had 2 queen bedden. De airco is super, de badkamer mooi. Het uitzicht is fantastisch. We hebben 3 maal gegeten in het hotel, dat was prima. Er zitten ook leuke eettentjes om de hoek. Al met al een prima verblijf.

Our cottage was right on the beach and we went to bed each night with the sound of quiet waves lulling us to sleep. We went for a diving trip and Cabrits Dive Shop was a short walk away making it very convenient. The beach is beautiful! Staff was kind and kept the place clean and neat.

The sulfur pools at Screw's blend in with the surrounding rain forest. The hottest pools at the top are fed by by cool waterfalls, so you can keep a cool head while soothing the muscles below. Great way to wind. Tip: The owner loves his reggae music, so don't expect the tranquil sounds of falling water and chirping birds. It's all fun though, and adds to the Caribbean flavor.
