The owners of Chalet Bonnevie put a lot of thought into choosing where to buy their dream chalet in the heart of the French Alps. But when they saw Chalet Bonnevie, they immediately fell in love with this pretty traditional home in Villards-sur-Thônes.

A major renovation has brought the chalet up to date with four-star comfort. This typical Alpine property is now very welcoming and cosy. A sauna has been installed next to the skiroom, the wood stove has been replaced by a superb Savoyard fireplace and the kitchen has been completely redone. The icing on the cake: a 9m x 3.5m swimming pool surrounded by a wooden terrace has been created and will be available from June to September each year.

You will love the breathtaking views of the valley and the surrounding mountains from the terrace at Chalet Bonnevie, as well as its quiet location just 3km from Villards-sur-Thônes. The village is ideally located between La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand, allowing you to make the most of all that the region has to offer, whatever the season.

Cyclists and skiers will appreciate the secure room where you can store sports equipment without cluttering the chalet.
Two families or a group of friends will find Chalet Bonnevie their ideal choice for their mountain holiday.

The chalet sleeps eight people in four bedrooms. There's a double room on the lower ground floor, with its own shower room. There's also a sauna on this floor and a laundry. There are three more bedrooms on the top floor: another double room, and two rooms that can be arranged with either large doubles or twin beds. This floor also has a large family bathroom, with a bath and a shower.

The comfortable living area on the ground floor has plenty of cosy seating and a large dining table - the perfect place to come together for cosy evenings around the open fire. Wifi and internet access makes it easy to keep in touch with home and check what's on in the La Clusaz area.

The lovely garden comes into its own in the summer months, when you'll want to eat outside on the huge sunny deck, take a dip in the pool, or perhaps soak your cares away in the hot tub.

You couldn’t chose a more perfect location to make the most of the La Clusaz slopes. Halfway between La Clusaz and Le Grand Bornand ski resorts, you can ski somewhere new every day.

Your Aravis ski pass also covers the Manigod area, giving you 220km of pistes of varying levels to explore, as well as extensive off-piste action.

Non-skiers are well catered for too, and can go ice skating or swimming in La Clusaz, where the heated indoor and outdoor pools are open all year round, or try snowshoeing, sledging, dog-sledding and sleigh rides.

Get back to Chalet Bonnevie in time to soothe aching limbs in the hot tub under the night sky - no better end to the day!

In the summer, it won't be easy to tear yourself away from the idyllic garden, hot tub and pool at Chalet Bonnevie, but your efforts will be well rewarded!

There's so much to see and do in the La Clusaz area in the summer. St-Jean-de-Sixt is one of the few places where you can try Bun-J ride, a cross between ski jumping and bungee jumping. Other more traditional pastimes are available too - marked footpaths crisscross the mountains, many starting from the village, or you can explore by mountain bike or on horseback.

There are swimming pool complexes in Le Grand Bornand, La Clusaz and Thônes, but if you're looking for something a little more challenging, there's a climbing school, via ferrata routes, a tree-top adventure park, canyoning, white-water rafting and paragliding all nearby.

The owners love cycling and skiing themselves; guests will appreciate the secure kit room with tools, bike stands etc. With impressive cycle route maps from the local Tourist Office, and a local company who will deliver/ collect bikes, sports fans will love Chalet Bonnevie.

Please note: in heavy snow you might prefer to park your car on the road above and walk the last 40m to the chalet. The swimming pool is available from 1st June until 30th September.
