Things to keep in mind: The building is over 100 years old. Although the electrical panel has been upgraded, plugging in too many modern appliances at one time in any one area of the apartment (e.g. the kitchen) may trip the circuit breaker. Using one countertop appliance at a time in the kitchen is best.
The unit has portable AC and a window AC in one bedroom. On the hottest days of summer, the condo can get cooled to 76 degrees. Please do not expect central AC coolness. Being so close to the water, having the windows open also helps cool the unit.
Parking is street only and can be limited during certain times of the day. Free transportation is provided by City of Long Beach.
While the condo living space is 1 level, there are stairs to get upstairs to the unit once you enter from the street front door.
For those used to city living, having a condo building that's on the street won't cause any culture shock. If you are not used to living in an urban city environment, please be aware of that we cannot be responsible for street noise or people living nearby.
All that said, here are some great spots to explore nearby:

Zuzu’s Petals (3rd & Olive) – Just 3 blocks north and 1 block west. Cozy, delicious, and always a guest favorite.
The Breakfast Bar – 2 blocks west, then 1 block north on Atlantic. A local staple for morning bites.

Just 1 block east across the street. Head to the stairs at S 2nd Place (just east of Bonito Ave) for sandy shores and ocean views.

555 East Steakhouse – Fine dining just 3 blocks west on Linden Ave.
King’s Fish House – Along the Promenade near Ruth’s Chris. Known for fresh seafood and incredible bread.
Entertainment & Attractions
Theater – Located 500 meters west on Ocean Blvd.
Aquarium of the Pacific – Just past the theater, perfect for families and ocean lovers.
The Pike – A lively area near the Convention Center with rides, outlets, and dining.
Queen Mary – Reachable via the local shuttle service.
Catalina Express Terminal – Catch a ferry to Avalon (21 miles). Enjoy warm-water beaches, glass-bottom boat tours, and great food.

Museum of Art & Bluff Park – About 900 meters east. A peaceful stroll with coastal views and local exhibits.
Mini Park – Across the street at the end of S 2nd Place. A great spot for a quick walk or relaxing moment.
*********** PLEASE READ *************** Please note: the booking guest will be required to e-sign a renter agreement on behalf of all the guests included on the reservation; this ensures the house rules have been acknowledged. Likewise, booking guests will need to complete simple guest verification process from our 3rd party vendor, Truvi, in order to provide a damage protection policy at no cost to the guest. Failure to complete the process successfully will result in a reservation cancelation.
We kindly ask that this residence be left in the same condition as you see it upon arrival. By signing this Renter Agreement, you agree to and acknowledge reading the following:
1. We do not host groups who are all 21 years of age or younger. If everyone in your group is 21 years of age or younger, then please do not place a reservation. It will be cancelled and subject to our cancellation policy.
2. Local residents are not allowed to place a booking without pre-approval from us. This is to prevent locals from using our residence as a party house.
3. Please note that we only release door codes to the person who booked the reservation and every guest must provide a valid, government issued photo ID. No 3rd party bookings; the person who booked the reservation must be one of the guests staying for the duration of the booking.
4. All guests must be accounted for in the reservation. This means all guests entering the residence/building at any point in time counts as a guest. In other words, the definition of a guest is not limited to only those people planning on sleeping inside the unit, but to all guests planning to be inside the unit at any given time. For example, if 6 people are going to “hang out” inside the unit, but only 2 people plan on sleeping over, then the guest count selecting during the booking should be “6” not “2.” Any extra guests not disclosed before arrival will lead to an immediate termination of the reservation non-refundable, require that all guests vacate the premises immediately, incur a $100 penalty/unauthorized guest/per night charge, and we will seek compensation for any damages that are found upon our subsequent inspection of the property.
5. No parties/events. We have relationships with our neighbors, and we respect their rights as homeowners. Therefore, we will know if parties are being held. If this rule is not followed, then your reservation will be terminated as non-refundable, require that all guests vacate the premises immediately, and we will seek compensation for any damages that are found upon our subsequent inspection of the property.
6. Not for commercial use or special occasions without pre-approval (weddings, bachelor parties, birthdays, commercials, bridal showers, photoshoots, etc.). We will consider your request if you notify us in advance. Failure to inform us in advance will lead to non-refundable termination of your reservation, require that all guests vacate the premises immediately, and we will seek compensation for any damages that are found upon our subsequent inspection of the property.
7. This is a smoke-free/drug free environment. If any smoking/drugs are detected either within the home or outside on the property, then we will immediately terminate the reservation as non-refundable, require that all guests vacate the premises immediately, and we will seek compensation for any damages that are found upon our subsequent inspection of the property.
8. Pets are NOT allowed in this rental unit. Guests will be responsible for paying for any and all damages caused by their unauthorized pet(s).
9. No excessive noise or loud music. Quiet hours start at 9:00pm. If any noise complaints are reported by neighbors, we will notify you immediately and remind you of the quiet hour start time. Any second noise complaint after you’ve been reminded will result in your reservation will being terminated, all guests will be required to vacate the property, and we will seek compensation for any damages that are found upon our subsequent inspection of the property.
10. Please ensure to check-out on-time in order to avoid a $50 late check-out fee. We need to have our cleaners clean the unit on-time for the next guest to check-in. If you require an earlier check-in or a later check-out please request it in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. Unless otherwise discussed, any guest who is still in the residence/building after 1pm will be charged for an extra night. This does not apply if we have approved a late check-out in advance.
11. Guests are assured that the space will be in clean and working condition. No compensation or refund will be given for non-working items outside of our control, including but not limited to, power outages, internet outages, etc. For items inside our control, we will make every attempt to rectify any problems that may occur. It is the Guest’s responsibility to notify us immediately if there are any problems. No refunds or other compensations will be given for problems we are able to rectify within a reasonable timeframe. Guest will be responsible for costs of any repairs for problems caused by actions of Guest or due to Guest’s failure to immediately notify Host.
12. Guests take full responsibility for any accidents, injuries, or illnesses that occur while on the premises or its facilities. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises. Guests recognize that they may personally purchase insurance to protect themselves in such events.
13. Bug and wildlife: this home is located in a suburban environment that is shared with filled with wildlife, including the creepy crawly kind. Depending on the time of the year and weather conditions, Guests may encounter mosquitoes, bees, gnats, moths, ants, spiders, beetles, roaches, ladybugs, stinkbugs, and other wildlife around the property. While we do utilize regular pest control services, we are unable to offer any guarantee against or refunds for the occasional critter that may make it inside. We do our best to prevent infestations and guests can help by keeping doors closed and disposing of trash and storing food in a responsible manner. We have pest control services to deal with all of these creatures. If you come across any of them, please contact us via your booking platform’s Direct Message (DM) system immediately. We will work to take timely action to deal with anything that you may discover, both inside your space, or outside, on the property. Many of these creatures are free-roaming. We do not have control of anything that occurs on neighboring, city, community, or privately owned properties, and cannot be held liable for their maintenance of same.
If guests leave the home in a condition that requires a deep cleaning, an extra $250 added cleaning fee will be required and charged. Any non-compliance with the House Rules could result in extra charges of $100+ or cancelation of the booking and the need for all guests to immediately vacate the property, at the Host's discretion.

The apartment is very clean and well located. However, the beds were only fairly comfortable and most importantly the apartment has no sound barrier to a major street. My family and I were not able to sleep because of consistent sirens, motorcycles, and cars speeding throughout the night. One of the two bedrooms you can hear the neighbors through when they are talking at a regular volume. We ended up leaving a night early because we couldn’t sleep. Great stay if you’re young, sleep well, and are out late anyways. But would not stay here if you have young kids or sounds keep you up.

Bonnie was a fantastic host—great communication which allowed a smooth check-in/check-out. The house was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our weekend stay. Only downside was the tricky parking and loudness outside, likely due to the Halloween holiday, but that was not in the host’s control. Overall, a lovely experience!

We rented the house because we came to run the Long Beach Marathon. I think it was the best option in terms of location since it was just a few meters from the start and finish line. The house was in good condition and had everything we needed, but the best part was the service and attention we received.
