'We stayed in the Cally Palace hotel many years ago when it was a luxurious and special place to stay. Unfortunately it is now in a state of disrepair both externally and internally. The bedrooms rooms badly need to be updated from their 1970/80s wallpaper and furniture. The lampshade in our bedroom , number 54, had part of the “glass” missing, a cracked wash hand basin and the carpet threadbare in places. The room itself was a great size but so uncared for. 'We had a lovely stay at the Castle - the room was beautiful as was the food. The staff in the restaurant and those who welcomed us were amazing. Only disappointment was on check out we asked the history of the castle and were told by a very disinterested staff member to "look it up online"! We thought they would have been very proud to talk about the history and when it was built etc. Other than that we loved it!'
