Bed was comfortable. Quiet surroundings. Easy access. Pub and bottle shop on the property. Good water pressure, older style shower fittings. Housekeeping was clean. Would stay again.

Had a nice stay, comfy bed, the shower is great, the tv kept getn no service on alot of channels tho but had a relaxing stay. 👍

I recently stayed at the Kooyong Hotel for two nights. The room was as advertised, clean, and air-conditioned, which made for a comfortable stay. It was also convenient to have a bar attached to the hotel. However, there were a few issues that detracted from the experience. The broken shower window with two missing louvers. The open bathroom louvers without screens also proved problematic, allowing two cockroaches to make their way into my room. Additionally, the front door was difficult to open and close. I had to put my shoulder into it to open it, and I had to slam it shut when leaving, which got worse following the swelling of the door after it rained. Finally, I was concerned to learn that the rooms are made of asbestos, which may be a health risk. Overall, while the hotel has some positives, the issues I experienced may give me pause when considering staying there again.

Not sure if the room got cleaned properly because there was an empty water bottle left on the table. Shower had mould, cob webs behind shower door, Cockroach’s on the floor. It’s also annoying having to wait a few days for the room key deposit to clear back into our account. Also we thought we booked a room with a queen bed, cause that’s what it said on the site, but we got a double bed.

Get what you pay for
We booked last minute this hotel was what we paid for. Very cheap older motel. Beds were ok, microwave and fridge in the room. Shower was good. Service at the hotel was great, very affordable drinks. They were more than helpful with advising about food. If I had one complaint it would be to put more pillows in the room. For the price I paid I would stay again

Absolutely beyond the joke was a horrible smell in our room to later find out there was a rotten and mouldy kids bottle. When checking out the young lady was absolutely rude

Refused Check-in
This hotel refused to let me check in, despite the room being pre-paid via my credit card, because apparently they cannot take deposits from a Visa card via paywave. So I slept in the CarPark of the hotel in my small hatchback vehicle, ambiance was poor, saw two suspicious car loads of anxious, skinny people visiting one particular motel room and for only 5 minutes each before departing with a requisite burn-out in the car park. I was cold in the car-park, had to turn on my car and leave it running to use the heater. Would not recommend.

Thank you for taking your time to give us your feedback, we are sorry you couldn't check in to our hotel, unfortunately not all Eftpos systems will allow you to pay Pre Auth deposits via your phone app's we actually need to either insert or swipe your actual card. Sorry you could not end up staying at our hotel but we will take your comments on board and will try to fix this for future guests.

The room was dirty the bathroom floor when wiped with a wet bath mat went black, climbed into bed and felt things crawling and the sheets felt "crunchy". Bed was full of bed bug poo and i pulled back the sheets to find bed bugs. Called reception as I had 3 sleeping kids. The manager was very promt and handled the situation well. I received a full refund and an apology. I was moved rooms and it seemed ok. Takes an extremely long and unexplained reason to receive key deposit back of $100. (Time frame given to me was 27-30 business days).

Afternoon Heidi, Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback, We where extremely sorry to hear about the bed bugs and we take all possible measures at the hotel to make sure our hotel rooms are always free from them. We have closed off this area and have had this room attended by our pest control. In regards to the $100 deposit most time frames for return are 4-10 business days, but some banks can take up 30 days which is why we feel obliged to inform you of the worst case scenario when checking in. Thank you again for your feedback I have passed this on to our cleaning team to address.

Our stay over rooms are serviced every 2-3 days depending on the guests request, I will follow up with our cleaner on why this was not completed with your stay and no fresh towels offered. Sadly there is no kitchen on site at our hotel to serve meals at the present point in time, we are in the process of planning an alternative option so we can offer meals very soon. Messy hotel hard to even the reception no signs up
Experience is wasnt the greatest dont think i would EVER go back a second time, messy entrance needs cleaning, broken tiles in room, dirty curtains, dirty walls, outside light didn't work, bed is unsteady kept moving around not sure if it was meant to have breaks. Unexpected fees was the worst at reception your made to pay a fee that wasn't on when you booked the hotel

We were given a room and only one light was working. Bathroom light was not working so we asked if someone could fix it. The only people there around 8.30pm were the bar staff. The girls were as helpful as they could be. They gave us keys for another room. This room was covered with live worms all over the floor. After we saw a live cockroach run across the bed, we asked for our original room back. Once back in our original room, we noticed more live worms. Bathroom mirror was sitting on the floor and not even up on bathroom wall. I know you get what you pay for, but this is just basic cleanliness and maintenance. We have stayed in other motels for the same price and have never thought twice about staying there again. Due to cyclone and shortage of power in the town, we were limited as to where were could stay.

So basically when it comes to the room you get what you pay for don't expect anything more. But after staying in hostels for two weeks it was a nice change. Now my only issue was one morning was doing my own thing, naked as you do, and the housekeeper walks in. No knock no warning. I was unimpressed to say the least. Otherwise staff are nice.
