Great place to stay.
Great hotel, Grand staff! Right in the middle of the city. My room was really spacious. Choose the hotel for big cozy quiet rooms. Breakfast and dinner was so so in my opinion. For that you should go out.

Het is een fantastische accommodatie om in te verblijven. Een relatief klein hotel, maar van alle gemakken en luxe voorzien. Bij het inchecken worden alle hospots van Madrid op een kaart aangewezen. Het reserveren van kaarten voor een voorstelling, een tafel in een restaurant of het bellen van een taxi doet het personeel maar al te graag voor je. Je koffers worden naar de kamer gebracht, waar je direct een uitleg krijgt over de airco en andere snufjes die handig zijn om te weten. Er staat zelfs een welkomsthapje op je te wachten, die je eventueel aan de rand van het zwembad kan opeten wanneer je geniet van je welkomstdrankje. Het ontbijt ziet er op het oog klein uit, maar is in de praktijk perfect. Van croissantjes, tot yoghurt en van fruit tot geroosterd brood. Alles staat er en mag gepakt worden. Bij het personeel kan je nog gekookte of gebakken eieren bestellen. Het zwembad is niet groot, maar heerlijk om na een dag in de stad gewandeld te hebben even in af te koelen. Ik zou zo nog een keer een verblijf in dit hotel boeken. Het is echt een aanrader!

Centraal gelegen Ov in de buurt Bezienswaardigheden in de buurt 35 kamers, lekker exclusief kleinschalig, maar mega grote suites. Wij hadden dubbel regendouche en nostalgisch bad, groot toilet t, minibar, livingroom en grote slaapkamer met de luxe bed, en frans balkon. Roomservice beetje minder! Elke dag moeten bellen voor de (gratis) 1 L waterfles,beetje jammer, zeker als je belt en het dan. Of een half uur duurt.

The entire experience with this hotel was five-star from start to finish. Our daughter is in a wheelchair and they made sure we were comfortable everywhere in the hotel, and were extremely helpful in booking restaurants and making recommendations that met our needs, too.

Located in Old downtown Madrid close to many cafes and restaurants. Easy walk to Plaza Mayor and Museums del Prado and Reina Sofia. Their tapas bar 34 is very convenient and has good prices and great service. The rooms are some of the biggest in any hotel in Madrid with all the trimmings of a Hotel of this star rating.

Structural Issues with the Suite
We were looking for a place for a family of four - including two kids who were 11. So our options were limited, especially if we were looking for a hotel. This hotel had a suite with two rooms which was perfect for our family. The price was a bit steep, but given the time of the year (New Year’s Eve), we thought we would suck it up and take it. The suit was located on top of the hotel. There were many structural issues with it. First, the suit felt like an attic. There are no windows offering views of the city. There are just small windows near the top of the ceiling. So it’s dark most of the time, I can’t tell the weather, and I can’t look outside. I felt like I was in a prison! And the celing is slanted, and you often bump your head. Even my children kept bumping their heads! Also, the showers - the showerhead was too heavy, and it would not stay up! It was so frustrating. Also, there is this bump by the entrance of the hotel. When I was coming back from a quick trip to the near by store at night time, I completely forgot about its existence and I tripped and fell. I also witnessed other people tripping over it a few times. On positives - the staff at the reception was friendly and the housekeeping did a good job at keeping everything clean. I don’t have the experience of staying in other rooms, but I definitely not recommend the suite I stayed in, especially at the price I paid for.

Our hotel is located in a building from 1852, whose top floor has indeed slanted ceilings, as was the architectural fashion in Madrid in the 19th-century. This also affects the entrance, which was the old horse carriage passage and that's why it has the little stone step. The wooden, for instance, staircase is also the original one. It being a historical building means that we must protect and preserve certain parts of it and are unauthorized to make modifications by heritage law. Despite this, we will of course bring your comments to our design department and we apologize for the inconvenience it caused. If we ever get the opportunity to welcome you back in our palace, please, do not hesitate to share your concerns with our Front Desk Team right away. With all the glowing reviews we read, we were expecting to be wowed. Unfortunately, the hotel fell short of expectations. Service. The front desk staff was super nice. During the evening, they had turn-down service which was really cool, as most hotels don’t do that anymore. Cleanliness. Our room was spotless upon entry, and the staff did a wonderful job cleaning every morning. Comfort. This is where they missed the mark. We paid extra for a junior suite and we requested a top floor room which they gave us. Little did we know that the top floor was an attic. We couldn’t use half of the room because of the low ceilings. We had 3 tiny windows that we could barely see out of, because of their high placement. We were able to peak in 2 other rooms on lower floors and they were quite nice: separate seating areas, high ceilings, large windows. Advice to travelers: do not get a room on the top floor (4th floor). The other disappointment was that there was a movie being filmed while we were there. The crew of at least 25 were on our floor, making noise, moving equipment, setting up and breaking down sets. They jammed up the elevator (only 1 for the hotel) during the morning and evening. The worst part was that there was no communication from the hotel that there would be filming during out stay. Condition. Beautiful grand staircase. Nice outdoor patio. Well-decorated. It was clear the hotel had been recently renovated. Summary. We would stay again, just not on the top floor.

One of the best rooms I’ve had in any hotel in the world. Over the top design elements with ultra quality inputs a large room and a bathroom unrivalled in Europe. Super comfortable extremely quiet and a gormands breakfast perfectly executed to boot. Congratulations to the team. They’ve nailed it.
