Spent 2 days in July after 5 days in the business district where I attended a course.
I had some trouble identifying the Hostel as it has a residential entrance. Try your textbook Spanish to communicate because the lovely elderly lady behind the reception does not speak a word of English.
Rooms are small but has everything you need, is clean and is cleaned every day with fresh towels. There is a good wifi connection trough-out the hostel but the best thing is the location.
The Hostel is located between Place de Mayor and Metro Opera, right in the centre of town with a get-a-way from the concrete in the nearby in the form of the park plaza de Oriente, the Royal Palace garden.
Sent an email to the reception email address from their website and asked if they could print out the attached boarding pass for the next day (using google translate). When I cam back from breakfast, it was waiting for me behind the door.
These little things make the experience so much better.
So even though I experienced some communication difficulties, I still rate it excellent!
