    Halverwege de 19e eeuw werd de schoonmoeder suite (Novel House) toegevoegd aan het oorspronkelijke Wickham House (gebouwd rond 1790) om grotere gezinnen te huisvesten die de elegante zomer enclave van Manchester Village bezochten.

    Het huis is onlangs gerenoveerd om aan de behoeften van een moderne familie te voldoen, inclusief woonkamer op de begane grond, open keuken, luxe badkamers met vloerverwarming en amp; een en-suite slaapveranda.
    Informeer eerst of uw reserveringsaanvraag binnen 48 uur na uw aankomstdata is.

    Let op: AirBnB incasseert de VT-maaltijden en de kamerbelasting @ 9%, plus de lokale optie-maaltijden en de kamerbelasting @ 1% van Manchester.
    Manchester is een klein stadje in het zuidwesten van Vermont, gelegen aan de voet van de 3.816 voet hoge berg Equinox. Het dorp heeft een rustige ouderwetse sfeer, terwijl Manchester Center een winkelparadijs is dat compleet anders is dan het dorp met zijn borden, bezienswaardigheden en vele winkels. Manchester is ook de thuisbasis van Hildene, het 412 hectare grote landgoed van Robert Todd Lincoln.

    Het huis is prachtig ingericht. Er is een grote slaapveranda verbonden met de twee slaapkamers aan de achterzijde. Opengesteld naar de woonkamer en eetkamer, is er een onlangs gerenoveerde keuken met alles wat je nodig hebt om thuis te koken of een wandeling naar de nabijgelegen restaurants in Main Street.

    De twee volledige badkamers op de bovenverdieping hebben stralende vloeren. Er is een damestoilet op de begane grond.

Living in History

We spent four nights in this wonderful historic home. It is fully equipped, spotlessly, clean, has all the modern amenities, but it immerses you in a bygone era. It is within a mile of Orvis, the American Museum of flyfishing, and central downtown Manchester. We highly recommend staying in this property, you will not regret it.

This house is a labor of love

This is one of our all time favorite rental experiences over the past 25 years. Every detail has been thought out and aligns with this beautiful and spacious 19th historic house. The aesthetic was perfect and at the same time, rather than feeling like staying in a museum, it was very cozy and comfortable. Close to everything. Highly recommend.

Cozy Comfort, Rich History, in a Great Location

This is the second time we have stayed at a Storied Stay property and will keep coming back! The Novel house is a well appointed historic home. It has a cozy comfort with classic modern features (updated kitchen and bathrooms, laundry on the same floors as the bedrooms). It is perfect for one couple, two couples or a small family. The convenient location in walking distance to wonderful restaurants, hiking trails and a short drive to prime skiing are also a plus. Hands-down, this property is a must stay!

The first floor smelled like the family pet dog. upstairs bedrooms and bathroom were very nice. No smell. The kitchen was very nice. I was surprised there was no body wash with shampoo and conditioner. Had to go to store to buy. My big issue was that the WIFI was terrible. After the first Night, the TV would not connect to the WIFI. I inquired with property manager by text, email and phone as I figured it was as easy as re-setting router. But no reply the entire stay. So no TV. Also, i have never seen a VRBO without secure wifi. This is insane. The Owner had its own secure network but Renters.... oh no, unsecure network which means i cannot remote in from my laptop which means I left a day early and deserve a credit for one night. But I don't have time to fight for that. I will try to splash social media with these comments though. Disappointed

High Quality VRBO

Beautifully updated and maintained. Thoughtful attention to quality details (kitchen items, library, puzzles, radiant heat in bathroom floors, plush bedding, spices, soaps, etc). We skied at Stratton and enjoyed wandering around Manchester.

Charming location and comfortable place

A friend and I stayed here for a weekend of hiking and taking in the fall foliage. Great location, 3 houses away from Equinox resort. Clean and lots of thoughtful touches. Only disappointment was the challenge in the Smart TV not recognizing the WiFi and no one to come by and fix it. We were looking forward to some movie watching and after several reports via email, text and phone, it wasn’t fixed during our stay.

Wonderful Home Rental in Manchester

Magical weekend

What could be better than a beautiful autumn weekend in Vermont? Absolutely nothing...as long as you are staying at the lovely Storied Stay home! The property is immaculate, comfortable, and designed with impeccable taste. The Novel House in particular pairs modern design with historic charm, which provides the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. As for the host, Matt was helpful, responsive, and damn professional from start to finish. He made sure our trip went off without a hitch. We couldn't recommend this property more highly.
