Picture windows on three sides of the open-plan living area mean it is filled with light from morning to evening, and a wraparound balcony and huge terrace, complete with comfortable sofas and dining furniture, means you won’t have to miss a minute of the sunshine, whatever the season. There's a shower room and toilet on this floor, too.

Chalet Chocolat is the perfect refuge after a day in the mountains. Stretch out on the huge sofa, piled high with cushions and watch the sun set behind the mountains.

A log fire means you won’t feel the chill, whatever the weather, and there’s room for everyone to eat together at the large dining table. The kitchen has everything you need to rustle up a fondue or raclette, so you can really live like the locals.

After dinner, curl up in front of the TV, which has French and English satellite, listen to some music or check up on the latest from home with wifi and internet access.

There's a twin bedroom on the lower ground floor, where you will also find the boiler and laundry room. The other three bedrooms - two doubles and a twin - are on the top floor, where there is a bathroom and a separate toilet. Crisp white linen makes all the bedrooms equally inviting, and the bathroom and shower room are spacious and modern – fluffy towels complete the experience.

ABOUT THE AREA ...

With the ski bus stopping almost outside Chalet Chocolat you’ve got the whole of the La Clusaz/Le Grand Bornand ski area at your disposal.

Equipment can be hired in Manigod, and there’s a handy ski store back at the chalet. Floodlights on some of the pistes mean you can even ski until 1am in La Clusaz, on certain dates throughout the year, and the weekly torchlit descent is an experience you’ll never forget.

Cross-country skiers will find plenty of trails to choose from, and non-skiers are not forgotten, with a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, ice skating rink and cinema, as well as sledging, show-shoe walking, dog-sledding and horse-drawn sleigh rides.

For the ultimate in winter fun, try paragliding on skis or ski joering – skiing while towed by a horse!

In the summer, you’ll want to spend all your time on the beautiful terrace at Chalet Chocolat, and with comfortable sofas, sun beds, a large dining table and a gas barbecue, there’s no reason to leave!

But if you can tear yourself away, you’ll find plenty to do in the La Clusaz region. There’s no shortage of walks, from mountain trails to hiking on the Gliéres plateau, the scene of the Resistance’s campaign during World War II.

Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, mountain-biking or white-water rafting - just some of the activities on offer within a few miles of Manigod. Via ferrata is a great family day out, with children as young as eight able to explore the mountains on iron walkways, secured to a harness.

Less than an hour from Geneva, and just 30 minutes from the beautiful lakeside town of Annecy, Chalet Chocolat is the perfect year-round base from which to explore the region.

Please note: there is no flat garden at the chalet. There is a sloping field to the west and a large furnished terrace and balcony. IMPORTANT: if you decide to book Chalet Chocolat together with Chalet Parakima located nearby, please be aware that none of the property's dining table can accomodate more than the capacity of each rental.
