We are lucky to be in a wild and natural part of the beautiful rural Yarra Valley. Lyrebirds, wallabies and wombats right up to the cottage and below us the vineyards, art galleries, restaurants and shops when you want them. Really glad you enjoyed the cottage. Tessa and Stewart

Really glad you saw the Lyrebird displaying, it is quite a sight. The trees have grown and changed the view to the west from the cottage but you can still see from the city skyline across bayside to Frankston. Our guests last night watched the city New Year fireworks from their balcony. As the forest changes the view from the cottage to the south has also opened up as the old trees fall. There is now a view right across to the Dandenong ranges from the cottage in that direction. Glad you both enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you next time you are staying in the Yarra Valley.

With views to the city we are surrounded by nature and there are many cafes and vineyards a short drive away. The cottage is warm and cosy in winter and a cool mountain retreat away from the summer heat and the hustle of the city. Hope to see you again when you are next in the Yarra Valley.

Really glad you enjoyed your stay despite the moth! Native animals are all around and are a delight to us and our guests. Even when a wombat climbed the stairs and ambled around the cottage deck at 3.00am waking our guests recently, they felt happy to have such a close encounter with nature and a good story to tell their friends! The wombat scurried away as fast as he could when the guests opened the door. Hope to see you back at Lyrebird Cottages when you are again in the Yarra Valley.

Hi Andrea, really glad you enjoyed your stay. We are only 10 minutes to the nearest winery but surrounded by wildlife with a great view across to Melbourne. There is also a Day Spa 5 minutes down the road in a beautiful rainforest setting or if you don't want to go anywhere a massage can be arranged in your cottage. Glad there was plenty of autumn colour left for your stay. It’s a lovely time of the year, just moving into the cool of late autumn but still some warmth when the sun shines. Wood fires and steamy hot spa baths are the best way to enjoy the cooler seasons.

Waking to the song of lyrebirds is still a treat for us even after many years. Really glad you enjoyed the mudbrick and the fine timbers in the cottage and that the short break from was just what you needed.
