After staying at the Fontainainebleau many times in the past, it was the first time with my girlfriend and her first time ever visiting Florida. We booked a junior suite from september 20th-29th, as all the deluxe rooms with one king bed were unavailable. When we checked in the there was no upgrade available for Expedia VIP access. But when we got in the room we were VERY DISAPPOINTED. When we got to the room in the Tresor tower it was very dirty, smelled like smoke and it was all very outdated. Worst thing of all, the shower head was under my chin ( I'm 6ft 2). I was unable to shower. The friendly girl at the front desk upgrades us to a better room, which was very nice and friendly, but again a weird smell was in the room. We got the tip to keep windows open so we get fresh air. But it apperead to be mold in the room, and nog all of our clothes smell like it. We tried drycleaning when we got back home, but the smell doesn't get out of my girlfriends dresses and my shirts and jeans. I can even throw my suitcases away, which were all from fabric. I tried to reach out to the hotel, filled in a form through their website, but after a week still no response. So in the end I'm very disappointed by my stay, and by the lack of response from the hotel unlikely I will ever come back.

Property not up to date, felt like a downgrade from the Vegas property, staff was rude, food and drinks were not worth the price and felt like they were cutting corners. The property is promoted as a luxury hotel and experience, it’s definitely not. Elevators were definitely not taken care of, the room was dirty and moldy. I could hear my neighbors yelling and flushing the toilet so the walls were paper thin. When we expressed our concerns to management we were told “it’s Miami “ and meet with defensiveness immediately. My honeymoon was honestly ruined by this experience and I’m very upset about that, for the amount of money we paid I honestly think I’d rather have stayed home, what a letdown

The Fontainebleau is iconic, but unfortunately the property and the experience are different stories. I had to call to find our bags an hour after Bell Services loaded them up. (Just let me take the cart myself...) We had to change our key cards 4 times because they're so sensitive to demagnetization. I'm not sure what's going on with staff culture, because every time anyone did anything for us, however small, they paused and stared at us expecting a tip and looked visibly disappointed if we didn't provide one. You'd have to have over $100 in small cash to keep up with what the staff expected throughout our 2-day stay, and we just don't carry that much. When going anywhere on property, we'd have to dig out our room keys a minimum of two times to staff security. And then, when we were looking to leave around 2pm, it took over 20 minutes for their valet to retrieve our car, and bell services watched me load the entire vehicle from 10 feet away with 10 separate bags and items. FD staff was great, F&B staff was great, but valet and bell service staff didn't give anywhere close to luxury service and I have to believe you can stay somewhere else and not feel like such a burden to staff while paying top dollar in Miami Beach.

I would have rated this property higher, but for one important problem. You can’t see ocean because they set cabanas in the first row. Cabanas are blocking the entire ocean view. Next rows of the beach chairs are directly behind cabanas. So, essentially you are looking at the gray wall of cabanas. I came to relax and enjoy beach. However, this property doesn’t care about other vacationers but those that pay unlimited money for cabanas. I saw other hotels/resorts near by and none had cabanas placed so rudely in the entire area of the hotels beach. At least would be helpful if the cabanas were spread apart. It was ridiculous.

We had a great time at this property, but the initial room, although upgraded, thank you hotels.com!! Was pretty run down.... the balcony door handle was half broken off, I am not kidding, and the shower side panel was half ripped off, so my shower leaked all over the bathroom floor and onto the rug. Fortunately we had booked through hotels.com and the staff were so kind to upgrade our room again to a room that fortunately wasn't falling apart! We had a great experience thereafter!

Rooms are very very low class while they charge you five star prices. They should maintain a minimum standard for that price. They don’t have minimum facilities in the room. I felt like staying in a $30 motel room. My wife and family had a terrible stay/experience while in room. This resort was very good at charging a premium for everything you request. Although they have few restaurants in the resort, you can’t expect food after 10 pm, Most of them close kitchens by around 9pm. Overall it was a very bad stay for the family after traveling so far to miami and also after spending premium prices for the hotel.

Awesome hotel with great views and pools are amazing. Bit expensive and the tipping already included in every purchase is a little crazy as it gives the server no incentive to give you great service. But overall we have been coming here for years and it is a great place to relax.

I paid $1,560 for an upgrade. There were 3 of us in one room, 2 on the bed and 1 on the couch. Unfortunately, the couch was horrible and I couldn’t sleep on the couch. We had to get a rollaway bed. I don’t think it’s fair that I had to be inconvenienced and the hotel is only willing to refund me $500. They really just wanted to discount the resort fees, but then I got an extra $330. In addition, the last night I was there, the guests next door came in form partying at 4:30 in the AM and didn’t quiet down until 5:30. I didn’t sleep since 4:30.
