We came to the place and at the registration desk person tells us that he doesn’t see our reservation and he needs condo’s number, which I never got. I called host as her number was provided on Expedia and she told another person’s name, who made a reservation, I corrected her. She sent out confirmation letter with apartment number. It was other person’s reservation. I called her back and explained it, she started insisting that Vrbo did something wrong and it was a fraud and she doesn’t know anything about our reservation. Host told it was a fraud, that someone stole our money and left her contact. This was the moment when we heard of Vrbo for the first time. After that we contacted Expedia and were redirected to Vrbo. It appeared that we ordered place through Expedia, but it was through their partner Vrbo. If you try to contact Expedia, there is no answer and they transfer you to Vrbo and they start verifying your information (very interesting stuff happens as I didn’t have Vrbo account at that time). We were told that our reservation was cancelled (by host), we didn’t get any information about that and our money never came back! Vrbo had some kind of insurance and they booked us a hotel for three days and for the rest of the stay we paid by ourselves. We asked for reimbursement which didn’t happen until now.
