'I was going to visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and I needed somewhere close by to stay for the night. Luckily, I chose the Butchers Arms. The room was lovely and clean and the bed very comfortable. The food was filling and tasty and I had breakfast looking across to the start of the Brecon Beacons. The beer was wonderful especially the Butty Bach (little friend in Welsh). '

'Reception staff sullen; restaurant staff overrun, service slow.
Food quality poor.
Hotel looks good but otherwise nothing special. Shower awful - hot then cold, lost pressure during my shower.
Grounds have some interesting photo opportunities for weddings but disjointed and tacky for any other time.'
