'This self-acclaimed hotel closed a year ago in a totally run-down state. Some four months ago it was bought by a new (US citizen) owner who is trying to rebuild the place. Currently there is one room that looks quite okay, however there is no reception, no personnel apart from a local housekeeper.
The problem starts with the entrance. When we arrived on December 14 around noon, the gate was closed, while there is no name sign nor anything else that indicates the existence of a hotel. It looks...
'This is the best hotel we have ever been to. It is designed, built, and operated by the owner JC Espinoza, an accomplished architect for his clients. The view is simply phenomenal overlooking volcano Masaya which had a minor eruption on Dec 22, 2024. The hotel also overlooks lake Masaya, an old volcano crater. During our 4 night stay, we were practically the only guests there. So, we had the whole villa and staff to ourselves. Road access to this hotel is rural. Best to have a...
'We absolutely adored our room, the natural beauty of the trees and views surrounding the property, and the warm hospitality of Marcia and Miguel. We truly felt at home, and the breakfast was simply wonderful! I especially enjoyed the pitaya chunks in the morning, and the brown muffins with their delightful cacao flavor were a treat.'
'Nice central place in Masaya. Easy to walk around the town, even safely at night.
Only one staff member speaks English, but they are all very kind and will try to help as best they can. '
'Prachtig coloniaal hotel. Mooie kamers, goede bedden, heerlijk zwembad. Lekker ontbijt, zeer professioneel en vriendelijk personeel. Op loopafstand van centrale park en straat met veel eetgelegenheden. bewaakt Parkeren tegen betaling 100cs mogelijk op 5 min loopafstand. '
'Hotel Boutique Mosaico was a very pleasant revelation. HB Mosaico truly lived up to their reputation. It was exactly as you'd expect from this category and caliber of stay. The place was Amazing. Very well decorated, very open spaces. Fantastic atmosphere. Great breeze. Lots of natural light.
The pool temperature was refreshing but not shocking. It was a Great space for relaxing and cooling.
Breakfast...???!...Very much an Authentic Traditional meal, with "Gallo Pinto", eggs, and fried sweet...
'We had a great time at Estrada. It’s a small cozy property with a beautiful courtyard. The rooms were nice with a mix of modernist and colonial vibes. Breakfast was great. They lady who served breakfast everyday is amazing. Property is right behind the cathedral so you get the quietness as well as easy access. '
'I love this place is one my favorites. The view the tranquility, the atmosphere and most of all the staff is so friendly, amazing and very courteous. '
'J'ai passé un très bon séjour dans cette hotel calme qui propose des excursions et aide les clients à organiser leur visite alentours avec de bon conseils. Petit déjeuner correct. Merci à toute l'équipe.'

"This self-acclaimed hotel closed a year ago in a totally run-down state.
It looks like private property from the outside. I tried to cancel the reservation, but that was not possible on the day of arrival. We went to look for an alternative place. The next day, after an unsatisfactory phone call with the owner who maintains the stand that the 'hotel' is functioning normally I decided to investigate the place a little further. US$ 65 was booked off my credit card because of a No-Show. I talked to the housekeeper who allowed me in and showed me around. I have made nice photoshoot of the place so everybody can judge for himself.
Please note the first picture that shows the entrance. If you zoom in on the wall left of the blue gate you can still more or less decipher the painted over sign "hotel Selvazul". The last picture shows you a table full of mice excrements if you zoom in a little. "
