'The room was bigger than the average Japanese single hotelroom, and had nice furnishing. The staff is friendly and the Japanese breakfast is a treat. Try their coffee, great quality. Kikusui is close to Imabari port area. If you don't mind a 12 minute walk from the station, it is a nice and interesting part of town to stay and walk around. The views are marvellous.'

'This place is awesome. I wish we had stayed longer. We stopped here for the night because it is the half way point for the Shimanami Kaido bike route. The residence was an independent structure with a large window looking out to the sea and the bridge. Sunrise was gorgeous. The unit has a beautiful bathroom, very nice bedroom and new clean kitchen. Everything about the residence was top-notch, including the amenities. The breakfast and dinner that we chose were amazing. Loved this place....

'The property is very nice and well kept traditional Japanese home. I did hit my head being tall but it felt like the most "true" home I had my entire trip. Other guests were very polite and staff was lovely. Convenience store was 10 minute bike ride and they provided plenty of options for dinner if you asked well in advance. '

'What a special experience! This is a glimpse of history with modern amenities and thoughtful staff. We had a triple room, which worked well for us as the sliding screens separated two sleeping areas. Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. 'I really loved this retro hotel on top of the mountainside. I had the mysterious looking onsen all to myself several times around 9-10 pm and it was so cool. The view is amazing and the food was very good. Just know that you are really in the countryside and to get to Onomichi it is going to take at least an hour using public transit. 'We came here for the biking and loved this hotel. It’s not easy to get to by public transport. You’ll want a taxi. The rooms are nice and large by Japan standards. The food was amazing. You don’t pick from a menu but they serve many different kinds of food. It is seafood focused. So if you don’t like seafood it might not be the place for you. We love Japanese style food so we were amazed. Definitely a highlight of our trip. '
