'What a lovely welcoming Hotel. Loved the ambience from the moment we walked in the door. Reception staff excellent. Our room was also very nice. We had dinner and this was so good. 5 stars all round.'

'Holiday Inn in Dumfries is goed bevallen. '

'We always have a great time at the Hopetoun. The rooms are spacious, cosy and clean, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is always amazing! We look forward to going back - highly recommended!'

'Beautiful, fairy tales behind stay. The breakfast and evening meals were less good. There was also no possibility to eat in the village.Luckily the cook was kind enough to make a steak sandwich for us for the lunch. The staff were very helpful.'

'Peaceful hotel, super friendly staff, beautiful surroundings '

'Great room with walk in en suite. Friendly staff who were very accommodating. Delicious breakfast.'

'The public areas were a bit dark and gloomy. The bedroom was hot and stuffy even with the windows open. Some furniture was quite old fashioned but the bed was comfortable enough. The food was OK but lacked better wine choices. The breakfast was a bit too greasy. Staff were friendly and helpful.'

'Heel schoon, fijne badkamer, goed ontbijt, prima locatie.'
