Lovely, well equipped cozy cabin
The cabin was perfect for our needs. The property managers where attentive and helpful. Close to Monarch (4 minutes). Not too far off the main road but must have 4wd in winter as stated in info. Great experience.

Bad directions
Everything was clean and tidy and exactly as pictured. However it was difficult to get there and the directions were not great. We ended up getting stuck twice and had to ask a neighbor for directions.

We loved this cabin in the woods. There’s so many places to explore at this location. There’s plenty of room for family and everyone to have their own space. We loved how remote it felt, the cabin had everything we needed.

Great cabin. Great area.
We enjoy going to this part of the state particularly more secluded areas but close enough to towns for access to groceries. This place was perfect. Had everything we needed. Could fit up to 10 people at least but we had a smaller group so more than enough room. Right by the river although the river was tough to access from where we were. No biggie. Overall great place. Look forward to coming back if it's available.

Good little spot
The house was great and clean. My only complaints were that in the listing it looks as though there’s a creek close that kids can play in, which is why we chose it, but it’s definitely a rushing river. Not safe for kids to be around. Also, I thought the check out process was a bit tedious. Having to do all dishes and start the washer seems silly since we pay a cleaning fee. Other than that very comfy, clean, and convenient to BV and Salida.

From the start to the finish it was all excellent. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay at. Booking was a breeze and our questions were answered briefly . Our visit to Colorado was made memorable with the stay at your beautiful cabin. Everyone enjoyed the stay and facilities. I have no complains. If I have to do some nit picking, the directions to cabin was hard to follow after sundown. We still made it without wandering.

We had an amazing trip Whiskey’d monarch two days ski Cooper and also rented timber sleds went out to Cottonwood Pass. It was amazing come back for sure. Thank you.

Spacious and cozy
Bigger than it looks in the photos! Plenty of space for groups, parking is somewhat limited but you can fit 3 vehicles without issue, more if you don’t mind blocking some in. Our only negative comment is that there was dog hair all over the floor, and a dog water bowl and baggies for picking up dog poop were in plain sight. We found this disappointing because the property is listed as not allowing pets.

Cabin was beautiful and cozy. Layout was perfect for our group. We enjoyed gathering around the table for dinner and stories from our day of skiing and to unwind while playing games. This will be our first choice if we return for skiing in the future. All communication and instructions from Pinon Vacation Rentals was easy and enjoyable.

Beautiful location, lovely cabin!
Anyone looking for peace and quiet in a beautiful mountain location, this is the place for you. There are other cabins around you, but once you go down the driveway to the cabin, you wouldn't know it. We were there in mid-October, so the weather was pretty cold in the mornings, but the afternoons were lovely. The leaves were changing and the river that passes behind the cabin was wonderful.

Cute cabin in need of updates
The cabin is homey and cute, but it needs a few repairs and updates. The biggest issue is that there are beds for 8, but only 1 shower. The other bathroom has only a tub and no shower head. Also, we wanted to eat some meals outside, but we could not, because the picnic table is rotting and pretty gross. The wifi is unreliable. However, the kitchen is well stocked and they have a big DVD collection.

Very central location of the cabin made this the perfect location to visit Crested Butte, Salida, and the surrounding areas. Proximity to Monarch ski area makes this an excellent winter destination as well.

Family getaway
Great place for a large group. The back porch with the view/sounds of the creek is perfect for sitting and drinking coffee in the morning. The house was very clean. Our group is full of foodies so the kitchen was a bit inadequate for our use but overall it was good. We tried to use the DVD players to entertain the little ones but unfortunately most of the DVDs didn't work with either player. Overall this place is great.

We enjoyed our visit! We loved being close to monarch pass - take the drive up 6 miles and go on the tram! The views are exactly what they say they are! The bridge over the river connecting your property to the property across the way was disappointing as they say do not go…but all paths lead there and little kiddos are very tempted!! If it’s the summer, bring small fans. With no screens on the doors, there is limited air flow in each bedroom…a small fan for each room would have been perfect! Enjoy the sounds of the river st night ~ truly amazing for every room!! Although the address says Salida, you are located about 15-20 minutes from downtown. The large dining room table was perfect for everyone! Dinners were amazing and the kids could play games on one end while the adults played cards on the other. We went white water rafting. St. Elmos ghost town, shopping and eating in downtown Salida right on the river!! Would stay again!!!

Our Favorite Getaway
This was my family's second time staying in this cabin, and it continues to be utterly delightful. It has everything you could need, is comfortable and welcoming, and the sound of the creek is enchanting. It is fully stocked with movies, books, puzzles, games, every kind of cookware... and the most beautiful starlit sky at night. I do suggest you bring mosquito repellant of some kind if you visit during the summer months; even though the cabin is at altitude there are plenty of them because of the creek. We love coming up to stay and hope to do so again soon.

Great family vacation
The location of the house was very convenient for all the activities we wanted to do. The house gave our family of 4 plenty of room. Our child (10 and 4) had a great time exploring the creek and taking walks. The views were wonderful. We had great views of the mountains and the river. Rejuvinating retreat
The cabin has everything you could possibly need, very well-stocked kitchen, plenty of beds, trees outside every single window, a rushing creek below. There were 9 of us spanning 3 generations and each one of us had a wonderful time - fishing nearby, soaking in the claw-foot bathtub, enjoying dinner and playing games together around the awesomely huge dining table.

A cozy home away from home to escape, relax, enjoy, and take in the simplicity of life. Friends and family enjoyed a memorable winter weekend on the first day of spring. The mountain slopes were very close for winter adventure, the rural community was great for afternoon snowshoeing and tubing, and the cabin was cozy for evening grilling, late night games, and laughter among friends and family. Great Ski Cabin for Group
A group of friends and I rented this place for a long weekend ski trip at Monarch. The place is perfect for a larger group. It has an awesome kitchen with everything you need and a huge table for family meals. It comfortably sleeps 12 adults (if two don't mind bunk beds). The cabin is very well decorated. I would definitely rent it again.

The Perfect Cozy Christmas Cabin
My family (6 people total) spent the week between Christmas and NYE at the cabin, and absolutely loved it. It was decorated for the holiday and had plenty of kitchen and dining room space for us to cook fun meals together. We played games each night at the large dining table, read by the gas heater / stove, and never turned on the TV once. such great holiday memories . The neighborhood (old Garfield, as I understand) had such cozy mountain vibes, and was super easy access to Monarch Mountain, where we skied each day.

Cabin was clean, good parking, well stocked, etc...some of the furniture is older and might need to be replaced, one of the beds needs a mattress and the frame was a little unstable. But overall it was a nice cabin and we'd stay there again.

Beautiful cabin, well furnished. Little tricky to get to in the snow, but we didn’t get there until after midnight and it was snowing hard. Great care taken of the roads afterwards. Really enjoyed the stay.

The cabin was well equipped, but the only thing was that we lost power on Thanksgiving night. No light or water for the remaining of the night (this happen around 8) no phone service. Unknown if this is a common thing for the area but for us it was super scary. After that mishap, we had a blast. Wish they could be some other type to connect with the outside world in such an event.

Thanks for the nice review. Unfortunately, the power did go out for the entire town of Garfield. Sorry it was scary. Such is life in the Rocky Mountains!
