Dompel uzelf onder in de schoonheid van de zee in ons kustverblijf, zorgvuldig ontworpen om in harmonie te leven met de natuurlijke omgeving. Zoals Frank Lloyd Wright zei: “Een huis zou nooit op de zee of op iets anders moeten staan. Het zou van de zee moeten zijn. Erbij horen. Zee en huis zouden samen moeten leven, in wederzijdse harmonie”.

Ons huis, jarenlang gedeeld met familie en vrienden, verwelkomt sinds 2015 gasten van Vrbo en HomeAway. Elk detail — van de zorgvuldig gekozen meubels tot de persoonlijke accenten — creëert een authentieke sfeer waarin men zich echt deel van de plek voelt. Veel gasten vertellen ons dat ze zich minder toerist en meer inwoner van Monterosso voelen.

Het huis ligt op een rots in het hart van de baai, slechts vijf meter van de zee. Volledig gerenoveerd in 2012 en in 2023 voorzien van nieuwe ramen en deuren, biedt het comfort en efficiëntie met airconditioning, verwarming en een stabiele Wi-Fi-verbinding.

Binnen openen een ruime woonkamer en een knusse tweepersoonsslaapkamer direct naar een terras met uitzicht op zee. De buitenruimte is uitgerust met een eettafel, stoelen, een buitendouche en een privétrap die rechtstreeks naar het water leidt. Houd er rekening mee dat het terras vanwege de hoogte niet geschikt is voor kinderen.

De woning beschikt ook over een tweede slaapkamer met een groot stapelbed, twee badkamers (waarvan één met douche) en een volledig uitgeruste keuken voor kookliefhebbers. Elke kamer biedt voldoende kastruimte, een bureau en stoelen.

De toegang tot het huis verloopt via een trap met helling, die leidt naar een kleine binnenplaats met wasfaciliteiten. Ons toevluchtsoord aan zee combineert eenvoudige gemakken met een diepe emotionele band met de omgeving en biedt een ervaring die werkelijk tot de zee behoort.

En natuurlijk: Location, Location, Location!

BELANGRIJKE INFORMATIE
- Toegang uitsluitend via trappen; de woning is niet geschikt voor personen met beperkte mobiliteit of rolstoelgebruikers.
- Het treinstation ligt op ongeveer 550 meter afstand (openbare taxiservice beschikbaar).
- Geen privéparkeerplaats. De dichtstbijzijnde openbare betaalde parkeergelegenheid ligt op ongeveer 800 meter (taxiservice beschikbaar).
- Om veiligheidsredenen kunnen we geen kinderen onder de 12 jaar ontvangen.
- Extra gasten bovenop de eerste twee betalen een dagelijkse toeslag (zie “Boekingssamenvatting” voor details).

VEILIGHEIDSHERINNERING
Wees in de zomermaanden alert op zakkenrollers in drukke gebieden zoals treinen en stations. Een beetje oplettendheid zorgt voor een ontspannen en zorgeloze vakantie.

Perfecte locatie aan strand en centrum!

Een prima compleet uitgeruste woning met gedeeltelijk overdekt terras met eettafel en stoelen. Vanaf het terras prachtig uitzicht over de baai en omgeving. In de slaapkamer (met het 2-persoonsbed) hoor je het geluid van de brekende golven van de zee, en regelmatig een langsgaande trein.

We had a wonderful stay. The view was as advertised - we were lucky in the off season to have very nice weather so every night we feel asleep with moonlight hitting the sea right outside our balcony. Two bits of advice is you book here - first, if you're walking from the train station, take the staircase on the right just before you would walk through the tunnel between new town and old. Our host was using Whatsapp with translation on and it wasn't super clear until it was too late. Second, we were there in early November and we're expected it to be quiet, but it was QUIET. Maybe a quarter of the restaurants and mats were open at night. Make we're doing renovations, etc. It was nice not to battle what I'm sure are huge summer crowds, but it was a little extreme. If we come back we'd probably do September or October. The property is perfect and we wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Thank you!

We had wonderful days at the “House Like a Boat” in Monterosso al Mare — the view from the terrace over the sea and the beach is unbeatable. It’s the perfect starting point for hikes and boat trips, as the ferry dock is right in front of the house and you’re directly on the hiking trail. Just a minute’s walk uphill, there’s an excellent restaurant with very good cuisine.The house is a little gem, both in terms of location and interior design. The kitchen is perfectly equipped — you’ll find everything you need.Christina gave us a very warm welcome and was also very helpful upon our arrival.The house cannot be reached by car. If, like us, you do come by car, you can park in the main parking lot in Monterosso al Mare. The walk to the house is about 700 meters — 500 meters almost flat, then a small incline for the last 200 meters. We took a taxi from the parking lot since we had two heavy suitcases. (Christina kindly helped us with the taxi, and it worked out perfectly.) When we left, we walked back to the parking lot. Our recommendation: definitely bring rolling suitcases — then it’s no problem at all.If possible, it’s advisable not to come by car. We were lucky with parking, as in October it wasn’t very crowded anymore, but at other times it can apparently be quite full. The parking fee for us from Saturday 5:00 p.m. to Wednesday 11:00 a.m. was 70.Many thanks to Christina for her great support, and to Elena and Enrico for renting this unique property to us.

Excellent unique place to stay in the best location of Monterosso. The beds were all comfortable, the house and kitchen were well stocked and there was easy access to the beach. The terrace was a wonderful place to spend time and watch the views and the different concerts that took place below every evening during our August visit next to the property- piano, rock and a comedian.

Beautiful Views Cozy Home Above Monterosso (With a Few Notes)

We had a lovely stay at this charming home in Monterosso al Mare. The location is incredible, with breathtaking ocean views and a peaceful atmosphere that captures the spirit of Cinque Terre. You can't beat the view from the patio! Just be prepared for the many steps it takes to reach the home - well worth it for the view, but something to consider if carrying heavy luggage.Cristina, the property manager, was amazing. Her communication was clear and prompt, and she met us at check-in to help us find the home and share helpful tips. The hosts also provided lots of great resources ahead of our stay.We had rainy weather during our visit, so we weren’t able to enjoy the beach. We used this stop to do laundry, but since the home only has a drying rack and no dryer, the damp/cool weather conditions made it so our clothes were unable to dry, and they unfortunately developed a mildew smell. This might not be an issue in warmer months but was a challenge for us.There were some ants in the living room and bedroom, but ant spray was provided and worked fine. Also, future guests should know that the shower (not currently shown in photos) is on the smaller side.Overall, the home is cozy, full of beachy charm, and well-maintained. We had some bad luck with weather, but the location, view, and warm hospitality made this a memorable stay.

The building is lovely with a fantastic outdoor balcony overlooking the ocean and beach. The location is perfect. Very easy access from the train station a short walk to stores, restaurants, and other. I only gave 4 stars for cleanliness because the clothes washing machine was filthy and the tea pot was unusable.

Close to Old Town - Amazing

Our 2 month journey began here. We stayed 8 days and we hiked between each town. Monterosso makes you feel that you are in a spacious town. We did most of our dinners in the apartment. Kitchen is well equipped. The views from the apartment are stunning. This place is a real gem and if available you should book without hesitation. Cristina was amazing help with all of our needs. Lovely home in perfect location

The 'boat' reference might be confused with 'compact' or 'narrow and small' but really it relates to the feeling that you are on the water when you stay here. Do not hesitate; book this house because it is in the BEST location and the elevated position with the water immediately below is wonderful. The house is really lovely and it provides a generous space to relax, unwind and enjoy the magnificent view. In the warmer months, swimming and sunbathing is just a few steps away. Short walk to everywhere. Quite remarkable really!

Amazing views and location

We had an excellent time at this unique property. The views and location were amazing. It was a short walk to the old town part of Monterosso for groceries, restaurants, or shopping. Also, I would highly recommend the hike to Vernazza, but don’t forget to bring the hiking poles that the property provided.

Stone villa on a cliff

We loved our stay in this splendid cliffside villa on the Mediterranean in cinque Terre. Everything one needed and more! Cool ocean breezes with the sound of waves to lull you to sleep. Just doesn't get any better. Located in the old town of Monterosso with less tourists and better restaurants.

We totally enjoyed our stay at this unique and inviting flat above the water. It was a welcoming home, perfect after a long hike or a day at the beach. It's a little tricky for those with mobility issues because of stairs, but otherwise I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Our Maiden Voyage

Salita ai Cappuccini, we love you. What glorious 4 days. Our maiden voyage in the house like boat, we truly could not believe we were staying here. The house and details of this house are beautiful, so close to Old Town, the beach, the ferry, hiking, train. We loved that we could get "Take Away" dinner and eat on our deck or have cocktails as we watch the activity below. This visit was what we needed after traveling around Europe.
