Boven het vakantiehuis Gulf

Het huis wordt omringd door het bos en ligt op de grond. Het heeft grote ramen waardoor het een spectaculair uitzicht biedt op het bladerdak en de Golf van Nicoya. Grote kamers en queensize bedden bieden comfort, plus alle benodigdheden en nog veel meer. Het huis is groot genoeg voor een gezin, maar ook perfect voor een romantisch uitje met een stel. Ligt dicht bij de stad, maar uiterst privé en is ideaal als uitvalsbasis om alle Monteverdes-attracties te bezichtigen en het is een attractie op zich die rust biedt na een dag vol activiteiten.

Zoals gezegd is het huis gelegen op een groot landgoed, er zijn andere huurwoningen op het terrein maar op geschreeuw om iedereen privacy te bieden. Net op de weg van het pand zijn er verschillende restaurants, een paar kleine supermarkten, kunstgalerijen en souvenirwinkels. Ook in de omgeving zijn er verschillende attracties, zoals privéreservaten, een vlindertuin, nachtelijke rondleidingen en anderen.

De ruimte

Het huis is gelegen op een terrein van 27 hectare dat gasten naar eigen inzicht kunnen verkennen, waardoor ze de kans krijgen om veel van de lokale flora en fauna te zien zonder een rondreis te hoeven maken of ergens naartoe te hoeven rijden.

Onze gastvrouw zal uw reservering bevestigen, u ontmoeten voor het inchecken en helpen met al uw vragen over het huis, het gebied, touropties, dinersuggesties voor al het andere dat u misschien nodig heeft. Host was welcoming and even left a sweet welcome note with some homemade banana bread. Host was communicative about the home and location. We had some difficulty finding the home, but that was due to it being dark by the time we arrived. It was pretty windy outside, so it was a bit chilly in the home (no heating system) during our stay. The host did give us a small space heater she had, which did help heat up one of the bedrooms.

Daniela was great and responded quickly to our texts. The house is a lot more beautiful than in the pictures Unfortunately it was super windy and cold one night and there are no heaters so we froze and couldn’t get a good sleep but it was better thr other night. The cupboards are awkwardly high in the kitchen and the beds are hard and the bathroom could definitely use a counter top to hold toiletries and some hooks to hang things. All the rooms could use hooks. It’s a great location and was perfect for 4 people. We saw birds, coatis and agoutis on the property.

Location is hidden and it’s difficult to find at first however, the area is beautiful, away from the noises. Plenty of space, rooms are very nice, located near to several attractions, downtown area is a few minutes drive. Though there was wall fixed small fans, the rooms need a ceiling fan for better air flow. Overall it’s a great place to Experience.

Wonderful! Highly recommended - amazing view from the porch, and we saw toucans, bellbirds, capuchin monkey, agouti, coati, heard howler monkeys and manakins-- all while enjoying coffee of the porch. Feels like you're in the middle of the cloud forest but a quick drive or lovely walk to Santa Elena or Monteverde. We enjoyed the trails and the optional al fresco breakfast. Daniela is the best host. Highly recommended!

Truly one of our favorite homes we’ve stayed in. Even the pictures don’t do it justice. Everything is beautifully crafted, comfortable, works well, and is thoughtful. Amazing property and kids loved the park. Close to everything. I made a mistake in booking on headcount but Danielle helped me remedy it in a thoughtful and considerate way. We saw so many animals off the deck, incredible views, peace and quiet. We would not hesitate to rent this place again in the region- it’s amazing!!!

Comfortable reality, remote perception

Amazing place to stay. All the comforts you’d need on site and a quick walk or drive to town, but it leaves you feeling like you’re kilometers from the closest person. Check in/out was very easy and convenient. Communication was excellent. Driveway may be bumpy but it’s not a problem (probably even with a 2WD vehicle).

Amazing rental house in Monteverde!

Just rent this house now and don't look elsewhere! Amazing view from the property. We saw a toucan, monkeys, coatis, agoutis, and other birds right from the porch. Close to everything in town and attractions. We had great communication with Daniela the host, and she arranged great guided tours for us. A truly incredible propety.

Awesome Stay!

The pictures don’t do this house justice. It’s beautiful inside and the nature outside is incredible. Small touches like including coffee, tea, board games and the yoga mat make this an exceptional Vrbo property. Daniela is exceptional with communication and arrangements. The only place I don’t go to 5 points is location and that’s only because of the road quality to get there. We had a high clearance, 2 wheel drive and still got bounced around. No way I could imagine taking a sedan there. All in all, a great stay!

My family and I spent one night in this amazing property and loved every minute of it. The home was so unique with the whole place, including the furniture being built by the family's grandfather. You could tell how proud they were of all the work he had done. The views all around were amazing and we got to see some cool wildlife right from our deck. They also have hiking trails which we enjoyed around the property and my kids had fun at the playground. The hostess Daniela was amazing. She booked us our zip lining including transportation to and from and also arranged for our drive into Samara. She made everything so easy and made us a wonderful pancake breakfast in the morning. This was such a unique and beautiful property within walking distance to several restaurants and we would happily go back. Thank you, Daniela!!

Beautiful spot. Very clean, lovely view, well equipped kitchen. Do note that the driveway down to the property is a bit steep, and might be tricky if you are in a sedan.

Wonderful Start to Our Vacation

We were 4 travelers on our first trip together. Mom, Dad, Son, and Son's fiance. Staying at Above the Gulf house was a perfect place to begin our adventure! The house is unique and beautifully appointed. The view from the balcony drew us outside every afternoon. But what made it extra special was Daniela, our contact person. She promptly answered all our questions, and helped with several restaurant and tour suggestions. Thank you, Daniela!

Wonderful!!!

Everything about our stay was wonderful. I have too many things to rave about including the location, the house itself, the views, Daniela... I'll touch on a few things here. The house was in the perfect location, off-the-beaten track but close to town, a minute from the Monteverde Butterfly Garden, Valle Escondido Nature Reserve (Farm to Table Escondido) and a lot of other unique places. The house had everything needed inside and out. Amazing views of the gulf from all of the ceiling-to-floor windows in the back of the house, well-stocked in every room.... Daniela, who is the host of the property, came to meet us at the house the day after we arrived. She's wonderful. She told us about the history of the house and the surrounding property built by her grandfather. The handmade woodwork throughout the house is stunning. Daniela responded to my texts almost immediately, even to offer to meet us at the corner before entering the property because we arrived late at night and got confused as to where to turn, even though she sent a very detailed video of how to get to the front door.The wildlife around the house is abundant. White-faced monkeys greeted us on the patio the morning after we arrived. Birds, coatis, agoutis, and moreWe would all love to go back and stay in the exact same house.

Fabulous spot!

Our stay here was fabulous. The pictures don’t do it justice. The home is extremely clean and well taken care of. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped.It’s close enough to walk into the town of Monteverde and minutes to all of the excursions.We had monkeys visit our balcony and the view is incredible. To top it off, our host, Daniela was lovely and very responsive. We would stay here again!

The Gulf House - Home Away from Home

The Gulf House was perfect for our stay in Monteverde. It had everything we needed and more. The views were spectacular, and the property was close to town but secluded at the same time. Daniela was a great host. She was always quick to respond to our questions and to provide recommendations. She also assisted with booking various activities for us. Our favorite was the night tour with George! Would definitely recommend for your stay in Monteverde!

Overall this house was just delightful for myself, my wife and our adult kid. Quiet, out of the way, but not really far from Sante Elaina. Nice view, if the weather co-operates. A bit of a rough driveway in, but then again a lot of the main roads were rough. Just a few easy steps into the place. Lots of space. Storage was adequate, A nice kitchen, for the cooking we did. There were several other houses very nearby that probably were built/owned by, the same owner/builder as well as a little outdoor playground of sorts, for both kids and adults. A short walk got me to a nearby Nature Sanctuary, which was one of the nicer ones we had been to. Groceries and dining were right out at the end of the road back to the house. A five minute walk through the woods/neighborhood. The internet/wifi was easy to access and worked just fine. Our host provided good info both prior and during our stay. She also provided entertainment for our last day. It was fun watching the monkeys from the deck. Thanks!
