'Our 3rd year returning to this wonderful home in Calais! The close proximity to Montpelier and Stowe is a blessing, but the best part is hitting that dirt road on the way to the house. The community is so welcoming, always offering a wave or a smile. The house is situated on a gorgeous piece of land, walking distance to Curtis Pond. 'Comfortable stay. Kitchen was equipped for basic cooking. Everything was as advertised except we didn’t find a toaster and apple screen mirroring to the TV couldn’t connect. Good all weather tires were needed to access with snow on the roads getting to the cabin. Also we found no AT&T cell service at the cabin but good WiFi once inside. 'We loved staying at The Stargazing Mermaid! The home was lovely, cozy and had everything we needed for a fun family ski vacation. It was an easy drive to both Smuggler’s Notch and Jay Peak. The extra-large mud room was well used and the boot dryer was much appreciated! Ariel was a very gracious and responsive hostess. '
