'The Marina Mahal is a great value option close to the centre of Jaisalmer. Akbar and Marina are a delightful Indian/New Zealand couple who are extremely hospitable and who do everything to make your stay memorable. They can arrange a brilliant trip into the desert. The vegetarian food in the rooftop restaurant is excellent and the views are stunning. Rooms are comfortable with AC, reliable hot water and free WiFi and the whole place exudes local atmosphere. Highly recommended!'

'Absolutely stunning part palace part hotel. Stayed on the Golden Suite which had comfy double bed and separate small sitting room. Close to the fort. Lovely rooftop restaurant and separate breakfast room. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful.'

'Loved my stay at here—completely overdelivered for the price. New property, beautifully maintained. Fantastic location, a 5 minute walk from the fort entrance. Gorgeous rooftop area with the best views in town. Lovely, attentive staff. Helped me upgrade easily when a room became available. They don’t have a traditional restaurant, but the food they had was very good. Only quibble was that the pool wasn’t quite clean enough to swim in. Otherwise, great stay.'

Nu weet je dat je dit kunt verwachten in India in augustus. Maar wat we niet hadden verwacht waren een moeder en baby salamander die over de muren liepen in onze kamer.
