'Het is een leuk hotel waar het karakter van af druipt. Mooie houten balken door het hele gebouw. Dit betekend wel dat de vloeren ook scheef zijn en kraken. Verder was het een leuke ervaring. Kamer was wel heel warm en onze ramen waren aan de voorkant dus toen we deze openzetten hoorde we eerst veel uitgaansvolk en daarna een veegwagen.'

'Nice tidy and clean room that looked like it had been recently fitted out. Decent sized Kitchen at each end of the corridor i didn't use them but they looked fully kitted out and new. The hotel is on a quiet residential street but took me 5mins to walk into the town centre which has loads of bars, shops and restaurants. Worth calling ahead of arrival and they'll reserve you a parking spot (There aren't many spots) Nice bloke on reception showed us our rooms and kindly found me a fan. '

'Hotel in posizione strategica a pochi passi da Colchester, parcheggio dietro la struttura. Mi hanno contattato subito dopo la prenotazione per darmi tutte le informazioni via whatsapp, gentilissimi e attenti. La camera pulita. Potrebbe risultare piccola per chi è alto e robusto, soprattutto se in coppia ma all'interno è presente davvero tutto. '

'This was a wonderful experience, very friendly staff who were always ready to help, offering glasses of chilled water in the spacious and well-furnished public rooms and alcohol in the evenings. We stayed in the large Shakespeare room, often used as a Bridal Suite. The spa is great, with a good sized pool, a jacuzzi and unusual sauna. Really good breakfasts served in bedrooms and at the nearby sister-hotel Milsoms. The fine dining at the main restaurant on the nearby River Stour was sublime,...

'Staff kindly upgraded our room. Had a lovely balcony with view over fields. Room was fabulous. Clean and comfortable- bathroom seemed new and shower was amazing. Really loved the hotel and wished we were staying longer. Also on uni campus where our son residing so very convenient. '

'We loved it here, had a a good couple of nights with friends. Beautiful apartment, amazing mattresses and pillows, very quiet environment. The pool wasn’t open and some work was happening but you can tell it’s going to look amazing once they put it all together and summer prep work is expected at this time of year. Kara was fab and we met a super helpful housekeeper who is doing a degree who was a literal walking tourist information centre. Great atmosphere all round .'

'Visually the place makes a very good impact. Dinner, the food was excellent as were the staff. Breakfast … we’d booked it at check in. We turned up to breakfast and there was nothing booked , the service at breakfast was okay , we did have to case up something. But overall we had a very good stay and would return.'
