Vintage House, Cottage & Bunk - Loop naar Schlitterbahn / Comal River

Stadt Platz ligt in het hart van het historische district New Braunfels op een groot perceel dat in 1848 bij de Duitse immigratieonderneming is gekocht. Stadt Haus ligt aan de straatkant van het perceel en Spiel Haus bevindt zich aan de achterkant van het pand, samen met het stapelbed.

Zowel Stadt Haus als Spiel Haus zijn onlangs gerestaureerd in originele stijlen, maar ze bieden onze gasten ook moderne gemakken en comfort. Het huis, huisje en stapelbed kan in totaal (18 personen) slapen.

Stadt Haus (omstreeks 1890) heeft twee slaapkamers, een grote badkamer met antiek bad, woonkamer en keuken met eethoek. De oude grenen vloeren en hoge plafonds zorgen voor een zeer warme sfeer. Er zijn glas-in-loodramen, afgeschuinde ramen en een enorm rond glas-in-loodraam in de badkamer. Zwaai of rock op onze veranda aan de voor- of achterkant. Er zijn barbecue-pits en picknicktafels voor elk huis in de schaduw van onze enorme pecannoten en crepemurtelbomen.

Spiel Haus (huisje) is een uniek huisje dat in de jaren 1980 werd gebouwd met vintage materialen uit een origineel Falkwerk-huis in de omgeving. Er is een slaapkamer met een queensize bed en een slaapkamer op de vliering met een queensize bed. Onder het hok bevindt zich het eetgedeelte met een complete kitchenette. De woonkamer is gescheiden van de keuken door het trappenhuis naar de zolder. Deze gezellige ruimte is ingericht met een slaapbank en tv en draadloos internet.

Stapelbed ligt naast Spiel Haus (huisje) en heeft de 2 stapelbedden. Stapelbed dient als de extra slaapkamer, heeft geen keuken of badkamer. Spiel Haus is ongeveer 10ft afstand om de badkamer te gebruiken.

Het terrein is omheind en aangelegd om onze gasten natuurlijke schoonheid en comfort te bieden. Buitendouche met warm en koud water. Stadt Platz ligt op een half blok van het beroemde plein en aan de overkant van de originele Markt Platz van New Braunfels. U kunt twee blokken lopen naar de Comal River & Tube Chute, 3 blokken naar Schlitterbahn, of restaurants, bars en winkels in het centrum van New Braunfels. De Float In, Rockin R River Rides of Felger's Tube Rentals kunnen je ophalen bij onze voordeur en je naar Float the Comal River brengen, je moet contact opnemen met een rivierfitter om een tijd en prijzen te plannen.

Really Great Location

Great location, parking is convenient, and the property manager was extremely friendly and responsive. Very good stay overall with only minor inconveniences. The lower heating element in the oven was broken, so we just used the broil function for everything. Either the bed frames or box springs were broken on the beds, so they were all leaning one direction or another. Still, overall it was a great location and we had a great time.

Cute but too expensive for what was offered!

Great location! Group of 9 stayed, huge shout out for providing enough towels (I find these type of rental properties never have enough towels for larger groups)! Great check-in/out process. No outrageous cleaning requirements at the end. The outdoor area is great & being able to shut the gate to the property was nice, lots of parking! So things of note though: 1. The oven cooks slow. 2. There's no dishwasher. 3. The a/c is not adequate for the house. 4. The front bedroom in the main house on the right side of the living-room, is HOT. No airflow in the room at all. Needs window unit. 5. Cleanliness was average. 6. Most importantly, the BEDS were AWFUL!! Lumpy & hard as a rock! 7. The back house with only beds, really needs a bathroom. 8. The cost was really expensive for the what was rented.

Wonderful, unique, great location, perfect for larger groups

We stayed here for the 2024 solar eclipse – a family reunion with eight of us in total. It was ideal for us and we had a perfect time! The property has three separate units (buildings) of varying sizes and configurations, which gives you a lot of space and flexibility with sleeping arrangements. At the center of the property is a large patio/courtyard that serves as a good gathering spot, especially in warm weather. Before our trip we didn't know much about the town of New Braunfels, and we were pleasantly surprised to discover that the property is within a very short walking distance of the town center, making it extremely convenient. We enjoyed being able to easily walk to the farmer's market, bakery, coffee shop, beer hall, and so on. New Braunfels is a very charming, friendly town and we would love to come back. We also appreciated that they left some eclipse glasses for us to use – that was a nice touch. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Great place for a large group!

Great location! Walking distance to a bakery, ice cream, coffee shop and restaurants. Centrally located to everything we drove to, as well. Lots of room out back where we hung out most of the time, it was perfect. The property is old and historic, which we appreciate.

Great location & charming property

The location of this property is perfect if you plan to float the river or visit Schlitterbahn!!! The back yard area was perfect for our girl, Irie - she loved exploring all parts of the yard. Parking was great and we loved that there were several areas to just sit and relax outside - the party lights strung from the trees were beautiful at night. The boys enjoyed the outdoor shower, and I loved the stained-glass window in the bathroom of the main house. The houses stayed cool, had beautiful architectural features, and comfortably fit all 11 of us. The houses were very clean & inviting. My only suggestion is that the bunk house & main house need a little TLC. The bunk house's door does not seal all the way and the tub/shower combo in the main house did leak a bit when draining - not a big deal, we just dried the floor when finished each day. Lotion, soap, trash bags, shampoo/conditioner, dishes, kitchen utensils were all provided. The fridges worked well and the microwave in the main house is brand new. We did not use the ovens/stoves, we did not want to cook on vacation. The cottage out back was pretty much perfect - furniture was very comfortable. Our host, Tom, allowed us to check in 30 minutes early which was so appreciated as we had a very long drive, and it was a hot, humid day. There is a bakery pretty much right behind the house and a coffee shop right around the corner - all within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again!

Good for big groups

We enjoyed our stay but the condition of some of the house wasn’t great. The bath tub in the main house wobbled and felt very unsafe to stand in. Overall we enjoyed our stay but for the price wish some things like the bath were fixed/maintained better.

Perfect location!

We had a girl’s weekend in New Braunfels with 12 women and this was a great property for our stay! We were able to walk everywhere - restaurants, bars, shops, the river! Everything was so close and easy to get to. The owner and property manager were very easy to get in touch with and super helpful. I would highly recommend this place if you have a larger group!

We loved the location! Essential items, eating and cooking equipment nicely provided.

Be sure to be careful, with small children, lots of nice breakables in the big house! The location could not have been better as far as shopping, eating, sightseeing, Scclitterbaun and floating the Comal! We cooked out a lot and loved the HEB grocery!
