Beach Front Cottage, warmste wateren ten noorden van de Carolinas

Ruim en comfortabel, perfect voor een familievakantie. Gouden zandstrand. Fantastisch uitzicht op de straat Northumberland vanaf het strand en de oever, inclusief de overtocht per veerboot naar PEI vanaf Caribou Island, Pictou Island en soms zelfs PEI zelf. 3 slaapkamers, 1 complete badkamer en 1 half bad. Grote keuken en aparte woon / eetkamer. Afgesloten veranda voor koffie in de ochtend en een groot achterdek voor BBQ. 10 minuten rijden naar Melmerby Beach Provincial Park. 15 minuten rijden naar de stad New Glasgow. 1. 5 uur rijden naar Halifax. Keuze uit 2 lokale golfbanen. Nabijgelegen bezienswaardigheden zijn onder meer het Industriemuseum en het deCoste Performing Arts Centre in New Glasgow. Dineren bij de beroemde Pictou Lodge ligt op 20 minuten afstand en de PEI-veerboot is nog eens 10 minuten. Andere dagtochten zijn onder andere de beroemde Cabot Trail of Cape George (het "kleine Cabot-pad").

A True Nova Scotia Cottage Experience

Bill is an exceptional host. He is warm, responsive, and genuinely thoughtful. The cottage is an absolute gem: beautifully maintained, sparkling clean, and full of charm. The spacious deck and cozy sun porch offer breathtaking views of the ocean at any time of day and in any weather, making it the perfect place to relax and take it all in. Every detail has been carefully considered to ensure a comfortable and seamless stay, from the well-equipped kitchen to the inviting furnishings. Go North!

We enjoyed our stay in this tranquil Northumberland Shore location. Well kept older cottage in a prime, private setting. Friendly neighbors and a beautiful view in all directions. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back sometime!

Oceanfront cottage on a budget!

We enjoyed our stay at the cottage! It was a good home base for exploring and visiting family nearby. The kitchen was well equipped and beds were comfortable. It was lovely to be able to look out the many windows and see the ocean or catch sight of several deer in the mornings. The host was helpful with a phone call to check in (and communication beforehand to answer questions), and the caretakers Cathie & BJ went above and beyond - very hospitable and friendly. We arrived later than planned and had a bit of trouble finding it in the dark (Google put us at the wrong address!), but Cathie came out and helped us out. The only suggestion I would add to the other feedback I've read, is you may want to bring some bottled/spring water to drink. The well water taste may not always be how it was for us, and certainly it was safe to drink, but we preferred a more familiar taste. Also, the listing may be made more accurate with updated photos of the beach. It has evolved significantly from the sandy beach in the photos, and while my kids still had a blast exploring the by climbing the rocks and finding tide pools, for a "classic" beach experience, we drove to nearby Melmerby Beach (worth the trip!). There is also a new larger deck on the ocean side of the cottage that is not pictured and is a lovely spot to sit in the morning with a coffee. Thank you for the great vacation accommodations!

Bissful Retreat

The cottage looks directly out on the ocean and offers an amazing vista each day regardless of the weather. Really enjoyed the many hours on the beach enjoying the views, relaxing, swimming and reading. Cathie and BJ are wonderful hosts attentive to every need.

Beachfront Cottage

Had another excellent stay at our favorite Blackpoint Cottage . Coming here is like coming home. The cottage is clean and spacious and welcoming. It is fully equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Cathy and BJ the property managers are terrific and are there at a moments notice if you have any questions ... and dealing with the owner is seamless! A wonderful vacation, a lovely cottage and a perfect location . Thank you and hope to return next summer 🙏

Excellent stay

The location on a bluff overlooking the water was superb. The cottage was clean and well-equipped. The caretakers were friendly and helpful in any situation. The owner checked in on us many times during our time there. The stars on a clear night were amazing. I plan to stay there again in the future.

Another Great Stay

Our fourth year here and it does not disappoint! Beach is beautiful and and easy access to day trips to PEI or Cape Breton is the weather is not cooperating. Jacqueline had the place spotless for our arrival and JB the caretaker and his life partner Kate are true gems! Highly recommend this location!

Séjour de ressourcement

Nous avons passé deux semaines à profiter du site au pie de la mer: marches sur la plage, contemplation et jeux sur le terrain. La plage de Melmerby, à 10 minutes d’auto est magnifique. New Glasgow, tout près, offre tous les services nécessaires. Le chalet est grand, confirtable et bien équipé. On s’y sent chez soi! La décoration présente de multiples objets dont on imagine l’histoire. Malgré la proximité des voisines, le respect et le clame règnent dans le voisinage. Nous espérons y séjourner à nouveau dans les prochaines années.

So relaxing

Stunning views both sunrise and sunset and everywhere in between. The cottage was completely functional, had great breeze off the water and cozy. We had everything we needed for a wonderful vacation. Initially we booked for one week and jumped at the chance for the second week! 14 days was not enough time to relax and unwind and take in the breeze off the water! Wonderful spot!

Second time was as good as the first!

This was a return visit and like the first time, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at " Beach Front Cottage". We have family in the area so the location was perfect for visiting and catching up. From the front window you can watch the fishermen bring in their catch early in the morning, enjoy visits from the local deer population, or just watch the water coming into shore, the view is spectacular. The cottage is well supplied with everything you will need. Arrive, unpack, sit back and enjoy!
