Negatief: Netheid
The host was supposed to contact me between three and 3:30 in order to have the property manager, give me a key. Instead, I had to have a search go out VRBO three hours later as no one could find the host or get the keys. When we finally reached someone, they attach the key to our fire hydrant in the snow that took hours to unlock.. I do not recommend staying at this place at all. As the price adjustment has not been properly applied, American Express will be disputing portions of the charges.

The address on the booking site is incorrect. The bunk beds in one of the bedrooms made absolutely no room to move or be able to store luggage. No lounge room. I suggest to get rid of the bunk beds. Only sleep a MAX of 4 as the unit is tiny. More than 1 bath towel per person would also be appreciated. 26-30 stairs to apartment. Great location, extremely warm, hot water only ran out once late at night.

Property address on listing showed 45th St. but later discovered the actual property is on 9th Ave - about a city block away. I followed the check-in instructions and walked down the street to a lockbox that was chained to a city fire hydrant. Returned and tried to enter the 45th St. address and was stopped and informed it was a shelter. We took an Uber from the airport so we had to haul luggage to 9th Ave in 30 degree weather. In excellent condition, the unit would be basic. First, it smelled like rot when you walked-in. Informed that the smell was the garbage room across hall but a maid later confirmed it was the kitchen sink. Second, a huge dead roach in the bathtub. Third, the toilet was filthy. Context - the property manager called 12:30p and said cleaners were supposedly still at the property but should be gone before 1:00p early check-in - which they charged extra . Clearly, there was no evidence of cleaning within 30 mins of our arrival. Their solution…to send someone to spot clean, “it should take about 3-4 minutes”. I requested a refund. Informed that since I checked-in (for 30 mins), the refund was at the host’s discretion, they refused, so there was nothing they could do. I agreed to the cleaning; however, the rotten smell never left, the bedroom radiator did not get hot, wife burned her leg on a hot water pipe that sits alongside the bed touching, and another roach was found inside a toothbrush case. In NYC for son’s 18th bday and this is what we dealt with!
