'The house, built 1870, would be a dream for children: candy, cookies, chocolate, muffins, candybars e v e r y w h e r e !! Inside it has an extensive collection of all kind of odds and ends, which makes the house so cozy! We stayed in the governer's room, a big room with a comfortable king bed. You must not count on (daily) cleaning and making the bed, because both jobs won't happen. That was a bit disappointing, because we stayed for four nights and had expected that to happen. 'I really liked that not only was my room clean it smelled clean too. The staff was very friendly and greeted me on every occasion. I was impressed with the breakfast and it was more than I was expecting. The thing I loved the most was the long hot shower I was able to take. I had such a wonderful time that I am thinking about planning another trip some time soon just for me to get away.'

'Ebony at Smokey Joe's cafe was amazing. When we couldn't find our food comp, she walked us to guest services where we met Linda, who was equally amazing. Not only did she find our comp, she tripled it for our "inconvenience." We were not inconvenienced in the least; we enjoyed chatting with Linda. All in all, a trip that greatly exceeded our expectations based on the service we obtained. We will definitely be back!'

'Did not clean room when they were asked. A nightlight outlet flickered making an electrical popping noise constantly. The room doors were stuck and had shoulder it to open then it wouldn’t close completely. I strongly recommend not using this location.'

'The front desk person was very pleasant. Parking was great. The room was a great size but in need of a little more attention to cleaning. Surprisingly quiet for a casino hotel which was nice. Visited the Sportsman Paradise restaurant on site. Food was good, but the staff not very attentive. Casino was clean and staff pleasant. Overall, decent and in a good location.'

'As a whole the room was nice. The two things I did not like are the low toilet (so low until someone could possibly get hurt) and the television going off for more than 12 hours. That happened my last night there. The television went off about 8:55 p.m. and never came back on. I checked out the next day.'
