'One night stay here after staying at their sister hotel in Raleigh. The property itself is fine but no atmosphere compared to Raleigh. Easy parking, clean and comfortable room. Not much to do within walking distance, except a burger takeaway. We tried to walk to a nearby microbrewery. It should've been a 5 minute walk, but we found it impossible to cross the 6-lane highway in front of the motel so gave up and went back to our room. 'This is a Hotel from the early 20th century. It has wonderful character. It doesn't have AC but does not really need it due to being up in the mountains at about 3500 ft. a room fan and open window was more than adequate. We had small issue with a smoke detector battery getting low and the detector started chirping at 4 in the moring. They don't have over night staff so it was fixed in the morning while we were out and fixed by noon. They do have a weekend breakfast that was very good. ...

'Very unique and cozy inn, historic properties and character. We enjoyed the breakfast with the view every day in a very nice location. Either library or the main dining area with great service. Just recommended an extra seating or a love seat In the room and maybe a warmer tone of décor. Otherwise, it's great value.'

'The linens seemed clean and the room and been dusted. I expect the carpet was vacuumed, but it had several large stains in it. The curtain rod was about to fall from the wall on the right-hand side. The towel rack from the shower door was broken off. I found it in the room, and was able to put it back on the shower door. However, this isn't something a guest should need to do. The part of the sink drain which allows you to hold or release water from the sink was not hooked up. The room...
