3 slaapkamers / 2 badkamers: Duplex: 1 kingsize bed, 1 queensize bed, 1 stapelbed. 4 FSTV's met verlengde kabel, draadloos internet. Tegelvloer in woonkamer, eetkamer, keuken en badkamers. Het tapijt in de slaapkamers. Grote afgeschermde achterporch met toegang vanuit 2 slaapkamers. Goed ingerichte woning met granieten toonbanken, roestvrijstalen apparaten, dineren voor 6 aan tafel plus 4 krukken in de keuken bar. Baby poort. Ongeveer 2 ½ blokken voor toegang tot het strand. Gas- en houtskoolgrills. Enkele stappen naar Shagger Jack's restaurant en andere bedrijven. Strandwagen verstrekt voor het gemak van het krijgen van apparatuur naar het strand, maïskolfspel. Parkeren voor twee auto's, boten kunnen niet bij de accommodatie worden geparkeerd. Eigenschap staat alleen kleine honden toe (20 pond of minder). Joyce’s Dream was a Vacationer’s Dream!

I booked this house to use for a family & friends vacation and it could not have been more perfect for us! The house was well stocked with everything we needed - including beach chairs! We did end up renting a golf cart to use for our stay as the walk was a bit for far for my elderly grandparents in the August heat and humidity (and with all of our gear, it was just the right decision). Being able to bring our dog was another awesome bonus and helped to save us money from boarding. The air conditioner worked well and was a welcome reprieve at the end of a long day on the beach, and we were especially grateful that W/D were included. We greatly enjoyed the patio furniture in the front AND back of the house, with the screened in back porch keeping us protected from bugs while also allowing us to enjoy some cooler nights outside. The kitchen table provided a great surface to play games and enjoy meals together, and the open floor plan allowed us to still enjoy each others company while cooking or doing things on our own. At the end of the street sits a brewery and two restaurants, along with several vendors for fresh seafood within walking distance. The finishing touches were the two end tables that also served as dog crates! While we did not use them during our stay, they could definitely come in handy for another stay. Last but not least, the house comes with several grills, one of which is a large propane grill that we utilized several nights. Great pans, tasteful decor, etc.

Wonderful vacation!

We absolutely loved visiting Oak Island! The house was perfect! Clean, comfortable, and with all the amenities that we needed. This was our first time vacationing with our two dogs and the house was perfect for them! Great fenced in yard and even though we did not need, the house had two crates available to use. Highly recommend this home for a vacation!

Beware!

Be aware that I was charged PER WEEK for cleaning and sanitation services. We were there for ONE MONTH and NO ONE came by for our ENTIRE stay. The only sanitizing that we witnessed was upon our departure. The man went inside to spray. He was physically inside for approximately two minutes, locked up and left—-THAT is the sanitizing. We each received ONE SET of towels PER person for the ENTIRE month. The hot tub NEVER worked. There was hair in it and also in the jets from previous guests. I called and put in a request. The maintenance man came and said that would be a big job of having to take out the tub. Nothing was done. In one of the back bedrooms…the lock wouldn’t work. My daughter slept with a chair in front of the door. She was scared until the maintenance man came and corrected that problem. The beach equipment that is bragged about in the listing was rusted and could not be used. The backyard was one of the main reasons that we chose this particular house. When we arrived… and during our entire stay… the backyard was grown up a couple of feet high. Neither our little Shih-Tzus nor ourselves could use it. Also…..Be aware that this is a downstairs unit only. Upstairs is very loud, especially on the weekends. I mentioned my concerns on THREE occasions to Oak Island Accommodations (this is who handles the owner’s bookings) and each time, my concerns were of no issue to the person I expressed my complaints with. Each time, I was assured that someone would call me. Well, it’s been TWO MONTHS since our departing and we have yet to hear from anyone. We paid a large sum of money to stay for the month of May. Our vacation included me (a single mom) with my two daughters. The money that was taken from us fraudulently is uncalled for. There was NO CLEANING and NO SANITIZING each week. I understand a cleaning fee PER VACATION GUEST. But that same tremendous charge was extremely exaggerated and unprofessional. It’s money that my girls and I need. All this being said, I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Good vacation house!

We enjoyed our stay! The house worked well for our family of four adults and two young children. Beach access was great, though crossing the road without any crosswalks can be a challenge. The main areas were clean, but some more attention to detail would have been good.

Great place to stay

House was as advertised. Clean and comfortable. We had a short weekend and the weather was wet but we had a good time. Plenty of games to keep the kids busy. Nice yard for the dog to run outside. Looking forward to going back hopefully when the weather is better.

Winter vacation

Nice place with screened in porch overlooking fenced in backyard. Enjoyed walking to the beach every day, about four blocks. Food Lion and Publix within a couple of miles as well as several seafood markets and restaurants. House is a two level duplex but the top floor wasn’t occupied during our two weeks’ stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Great Stay!

Great location, well priced, pet friendly and a well stocked kitchen. 5 minute walk to the beach. Loved our stay! Great restaurant (Shagger Jack’s) just down the street with excellent food and a great coffee place just around the corner. In addition a great fresh seafood place just around the corner as well. Would definitely stay again.

My Oak Island vacation

Although the weather didn't cooperate with our stay on Oak Island we still had a terrific time. The house is as described online and had all the comforts of home. This house is in a terrific location, 15 min to Southport and literally down the block from Shagger jacks restaurant which is a terrific place to eat. If you can't be right on the beach this is a great alternative place to stay!!!
