'Matt was a gracious host and the property was as described with plenty of room for our family of 4. Kitchen was fully equipped and the front deck had plenty of seating. It was wonderful to sit out there late at night. There was even a doggie gate blocking the stairs so that our pup could be out there as well. Each bedroom had a remote controlled ceiling fan which was really nice. You will want to bring toilet paper, paper towels and garbage bags if staying a week as the cleaning crew leaves...

'Our stay at this beach house was disappointing, especially considering the price. The property was not as clean as expected. There was visible dust on the curtains downstairs, and the curtains upstairs were dirty. There were tons of ants throughout the yard and bugs were a constant issue in the downstairs bathroom. 'We loved our recent stay at the Silver Palms Cottage. The property was exactly as pictured and described. It was located in the more residential area of Oak Island which was fine with us, we enjoyed the quiet away from the tourists. However, it was a short ride to the beach (10 min). 'Kasie was a wonderful host and her house was very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and clean. Easy parking and only 2 short blocks to the ocean beach. The fenced yard was terrific for our 4 legged Ruby Rose. Kitchen had more than enough supplies that we never really needed anything but the groceries. Bath towels and linens were ample and all of the "little stuff" in the kitchen was easy to find. Oak Island is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and we will return soon.'
