'The hosts provide a perfect place to stay. It is cozy, but seems more roomy than the pictures suggest. Each room is enhanced by tastefully chosen art, furniture and unusually varied lighting. The kitchen has a surprising amount of functionality, not least of which is how attractive it is. We didn't cook since Alameda has excellent, affordable restaurants nearby, We slept well.'

'I was only there for one evening. I wanted to be close to the Oakland airport for my Monday mid morning flight to avoid traffic. It’s a perfect place for that. No need to get on the freeway and just a short 4-5 mile drive down the hill. Very pretty area too. Oh and the water pressure for the shower was awesome and heats up quick. Thank you again for a very convenient and peaceful stay! I will stay again when in the area. '

'We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s a cozy, recently constructed cottage with all modern amenities. It’s very well designed in every respect with lots of cupboard and storage space. There is parking in the driveway.The location couldn’t be better. It’s walking distance to shops and restaurants along College Ave.Patty, the owner, lives in the front house and is very personable and accommodating. We’re looking forward to staying here again!'

'I am not sure if it's the property manager, who did call and apologize the next day, or VRBO processes and management. We were not able to access the property at midnight, having just arrived in Oakland. After repeated attempts to contact the property manager all day for a door code, I finally called VRBO. The property had been rented, possibly under a different company. I am not sure. We were left to find accomodations at 1 AM. The property was right by the family's house we were visiting so...

'Really nice in-law cottage with a lovely patio and garden. Close to freeway and Grand Lake Theatre, plenty of food options and a supermarket nearby. TV was a problem but Wi-Fi worked and we used our own tablets most of the time. Washer & dryer needs some knobs replaced but host was responsive & friendly about helping us find a workaround. Washed clothes just fine. Vehicle parking on street or at public lot nearby. Very nice place and I’d stay again!'

'Riza and Miguel have created a comfortable and well appointed cottage that has everything you’ll need for a pleasant stay. The entire unit was very clean and has many amenities. Beds were comfortable and there were extra pillows, linen, and towels for the bathroom. Kitchen was well appointed and we cooked several meals during our time there. Television was great and WiFi signal and speed allowed me to work remotely without a hitch. The washer and dryer were easy to access in the main building...

'The studio cottage was perfect for my month visiting UC Berkeley. It was exactly as described, everything was functional and fresh. It was also a great find and luxury to have our own laundry. It is in a quiet area, yet about a 5 minutes walk from Trader Joes and restaurants. Easy to get around by walking, city bike, and bus. Good walking distance to the university also.
