Cozy cabin for a winter getaway
My family loved this cozy cabin near Deep Creek Lake. The kitchen was well stocked, the cabin was clean and comfortable. Dale sent so much helpful information to make our stay was easy . We went for a winter skiing and tubing adventure and it snowed all weekend. Perfect! The man that plowed the neighborhood was right on top of it so we had no problems at all getting around.

Cozy getaway
The property is beautiful! Beds were comfy and the kitchen well stocked. We ended up snowed in for the day we were there but the fireplace kept us cozy. One issue we had was getting up the driveway. The driveway incline was a bit much for my minivan but, it was icy. We ended up making it up and then discovered a flat tire (obviously not the fault of the hosts to be clea) and had to wait because of the snowy and icy weather. The host, Dale, was so kind and responsive to our messages. They even offered to let us stay another night since we were having trouble getting out. Despite our troubles, the cabin was a wonderful place to be snowed in at.

The Good, the Bad, the Ugly
Good: The host Dale was easy to reach. She tried to help us when we couldn't get the keypad door to lock when we wanted to leave. The floors and countertops seemed clean. Nice area. Bad: The back of the couch frame was busted, the shower is old, only one shower upstairs for the two main rooms, the walls are thin and you can hear everything in the next rooms and bathroom. We often used the downstairs bathroom for privacy. The deck outside is very slippery when wet. The jacuzzi panel was upside down, which we were notified of this but... why. Ugly: The heating sensors must not be working. We turned the thermostats up to 70 degrees and we cooked! Had to turn everything down to 50/55F. The floor heaters got so hot they were glowing red. My husband burnt his hand reaching down to grab his sock. The headboard for the beds upstairs is fabric, which is fine if cleaned. When I moved the pillow down from the left side there was a clear yellow stain on the headboard of the kind bed. It made me feel as though everything else was dirty. I don't know where all the good reviews came from but for the price we paid to not have the place upkept is ridiculous. Don't appreciate needing to have to worry about turning on and off breaker switches, leaving dehumidifiers on or off, and washing dishes. How do I know the glasses were cleaned right (or at all) by the last person?? Also, not sure why it's listed as eco friendly.

Cozy Cabin
We had wonderful weekend getaway to this cute cabin at DCL. The host was so accommodating and communicative. The cabin was warm and the backyard area was magical with the lights, firepit, and hot tub. We enjoyed hiking in Swallow Falls and great food at Fire Water! Will definitely go back!

Fall escape
Timing was perfect, grounds were carpeted with colorful leaves. Cabin is warm and cozy. Just off the main road, yet you feel buried in the woods....minutes from everything. Communications were above and beyond, directions on what is where in the house, suggestions of places to go, eat, do, etc........Great experience, great weekend. We were sorry it had to end.

Pick this cabin!!!!
I can’t say enough good things about this cabin and the wonderful owners!! The owners were AMAZING to work with from responding so quickly to emails to sending so many recommendations/tips for our trip. The cabin itself was perfect! Clean and so cozy! The place was stocked with spices one may forget to pack, marshmallows for the fire, dishes, cookware, the works. The outdoor space is magical with the string lights and the quietness while relaxing in the hot tub. It was just overall a great experience and we will definitely go back soon. You won’t regret choosing this house, I can promise you that!

Incredible cabin
I can’t even express how incredible this cabin was. It’s absolutely beautiful and the natural rocks add such an appeal that pictures don’t do it justice. Dale, our host, was awesome!! She sent us pages of recommendations and need to know stuff that truly helped make our weekend even better!! We will definitely be back to this cabin and plan to stay at least another day. It truly was magical!!

Gorgeous cabin, relaxing location
Dale was so helpful and sent great detailed instructions for the cabin as well as lots of options for food, entertainment, and more. The cabin was immaculate and having a nice dryer/washer right downstairs was very nice. The cabin was roomy and cozy, and despite having so many amenities, my family and I spent most of our time relaxing outside on the porch or by the bonfire. A wonderful location, just minutes from all the main stops in Deep Creek. We used the grill every night and just enjoyed the space. We will definitely be back!

Charming Get Away
We stayed for the Memorial Day weekend and had a blast! The cabin is located in a quiet area, but is also conveniently located to numerous recreational activities and restaurants. We had great weather and found lots to do locally; many had been suggested by our hosts in a well prepared Welcome book at the property. In the evenings, we extended our time outdoors; using the hot tub, picnic table and fire pit. Our group included a "tween" who found lots of games and books to enjoy. We also had an 18-month old child with us. The owners communicated with us to prepare a safe environment. All 6 of us agreed - it was wonderful!

Absolutely magical!
We LOVED this cabin! The hot tub and the fire pit with the string lights gave an almost magic feel to the yard. This is rarely talked about, but the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable and we all got the best sleep we have had in a long time. The property was very easy to find and the owners provide the most concise, detailed instructions ever. We had a great time, you should book this place, so you can have a great time too!

Great Little Property - Very Relaxing
What a wonderful little spot for a family getaway! The cabin was just as described and very clean! The outdoor space with the fire pit and lights were amazing! Beds were comfy, decor was adorable, kitchen had everything we needed and more! Kids loved the foosball table! I didn't realize there was laundry and that was an added bonus since they got a little dirty outside :) Hosts were incredibly communicative, outlined instructions for check in/check out very clearly, and gave great suggestions for restaurants and child-friendly hiking trails. My family can't wait to go back!

Great for lowkey gathering
I wanted a small, intimate, easy location for my bachelorette party and BOY did this place deliver. The owners were super helpful and quick to respond with any of my questions; the care instructions of the property (arrival, departure, etc) were super detailed. The house is the perfect size for 5-6 people, and the hot tub/firepit combo was amazing to have on hand. Proximity to parks and hikes was ideal, being ~6 minutes from Swallow Falls trail and similarly to the Rock Maze trail. So cool, so neat, and super clean! Would definitely recommend, and might rebook in the future!

It was the best mini vacation. The property was amazing. Very clean, completely stocked. Cozy and loved the layout of the house. I wanted to move there and never leave. The cabin was exactly as advertised. It was clean, comfy, and we had a great time! It had a beautiful view in a gorgeous area- all nature lovers would it here! Great campfire, hot tub, and cozy living room fireplace set ups. Bedrooms were clean and comfortable, as well as the bathrooms. It even snowed by surprise and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous. Would totally come again.

Amazing Fall Getaway!
Just as described / pictured - if not better! Host was extremely responsive and proactively provided helpful information about the area that truly enhanced our stay. The location makes you feel as though you are truly away from it all while still being very close to great attractions and dining. Labor Day Weekend
My Wife and I stayed at this cute and very clean cabin for 4 days. The only issue we had was with the wifi. You learn more about people in how they handle issues as they happen vs when things go perfect. The owners had it straightened out within an hour and handled it very professionally. They are very friendly and helpful. We made use of both the Hot Tub and Firepit. At night with the back lights on it the firepit was absolutely lovely. The location was perfect as well to get to the restaurants and both state parks. We had a wonderful time.

Relaxing at deep creek!

Wonderful Stay, Perfectly Charming Cabin!
My daughters and I really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It is true to it's name: Charming Cabin! Beautiful, clean and spacious. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the utensils, cutlery, even seasonings and spices! We mostly cooked at home and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere the cabin has to offer. We also loved the soft, fresh towels and linen, enjoyed the hot tub in the evenings with the fairy lights on , watched chipmunks and deer while taking in the serene and magical scene out on the decks in the mornings. Most Water Activities Centers and Restaurants are less than 10 mins drive away from the cabin. Also, there is a great creamery and donut shop just 5 minutes away. I recommend booking this cabin for your stay by the Lake.

Love the outdoor space!
Our family absolutely loved the outdoor space. We ate every meal outside at the picnic table and used the fire pit almost every night. The kids had a blast in the "warm tub" (they renamed it because we turned the temp down for them). The owner was also very responsive and helpful!

Noisy, Corner Property
1. The hot tub is viewable from the corner gravel roads so as you 'relax' you constantly here noise and get dusted. Also, the king bedroom is parallel to the access road, so light sleepers are easily disturbed. 2. I deemed the downstairs shower unusable after my 9 year old could not get the water to turn off. When I intervened, 1st she was scalded, then I froze her; during this process, gray, metal-smelling water began to come out of the one fixture. 3. The cabin decorations are unique and make an eclectic vibe, just as can be seen in the posted photos. Something that I failed to notice in the photos was the amount of lamps in the cabin -- so many! However, since the overhead light in the upstairs main room (living/dining area) was broken (light part was hanging sideways), we needed to use many of these lamps. For instance, to see to cook one needs to turn on the overhead sink light, the lamp on top of the fridge, the stove light, the lamp on a shelf right behind the stove, and a lamp jammed behind the door and kitchen table. During our stay, at least 3 bulbs blew, my husband switched out one so the kids could see to play foosball. 4. I rated the 'accuracy of the online listing' as I did because of the eco -friendly statements and the internet and TV. 4a. Regular lightbulbs (in so many lamps), instead of LEDs; no recycling bin available, just trash. 4b. The internet and cable were constantly out. Normally, I wouldn't mind because more unplugged/ family time, but as avid hockey fans, we couldn't watch 2 of 3 Stanley Cup games during our stay. Also, I wasn't paying for a rustic vacation; I paid a lot of money and these amenities were not consistent (similar to having to share a bathroom with my kids/something I wasn't planning on doing based on the property description). *Overall, the house is a suitable shelter for a fun Deep Creek vacation if you do not mind some of the quirks I listed above. I did appreciate the activities list because the Rock Maze was awesome just as the owner stated! Finally, part of the listing is accurate in that the cabin is well stocked with supplies- this is rare in vacation rentals (spices, marshmallows, TP, paper towels, soap) -- thank you!*

Yikes, so sorry that you had all of these issues. I had the handyman check the shower immediately upon reading your review, and I have now thoroughly checked it myself. I cannot explain what happened, but it is working fine. Awful that your daughter had that experience. We do have a very attentive internet service. We make sure to have fully updated equipment. That said, we are in the mountains and it does, only rarely, go out. But the service deals with it right away. I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience. Thanks for your comments about the light bulbs. I'm constantly looking for LED bulbs that provide a color of light that I like. I will keep looking because you are right - I should use them! Sadly, Garrett County does not pick up recycling. That makes me crazy. I bring mine home to recycle, but that's not viable for others. I wish that Garrett would change their policy. Cozy Cottage
This is a charming little place to get away. Very quaint. We spend most of our time outside, so this was great. Plenty of room on the deck, nice area by the firepit that lights nicely at night. We were visited by a deer and quite a few chipmunks. One morning we found some bear scat by the top of the hill where the trash bin is located but he couldn't get in the trash...maybe why he left us a little something. All in all a nice experience.

Great Option in Deep Creek
Great property that was a breeze to rent- entry, location, info was all super clear and easy. House is huge and two level so great for large families/groups. It was just me and my wife and we had tons of space.

The getaway that we needed!
This was the perfect getaway for my husband and I after having two toddlers. It's been over four years since we've been able to get away by ourselves so this was much needed and this cabin did not disappoint! It was so peaceful and quiet which we cherished. It had all the comforts of home and was just overall very cozy. We loved the decor in the cabin and the hot tub! There were very clear instructions regarding arrival and departure procedures and communication with the owners was effortless. We are already planning when we'll return!

Ultimate Relaxation at a Cute and Cozy Cabin
My fiance and I had a wonderful little getaway at this cozy cabin in the woods. The property, both indoor and outdoor, is quite charming and induces a feeling of overall wellbeing. From the wood burning fireplace, to the Nordic hot tub, and the unique and beautifully lit outdoor space, complete with grill, firepit and storybook appeal, there are endless ways in which to relax. The bed and furniture was comfy, there are a variety of wonderful books, and cute decor throughout. The cabin is well stocked and very clean. There are other cabins/homes around, but the location of this cabin at the top of the hill, along with the outdoor setup and deck backing up to your own little wooded area allows for plenty of privacy. We enjoyed the coffee at the friendly little coffee shop down the road, and ate some great food at local restaurants suggested by the host. Dale was extremely kind and very accommodating, and we would be happy to book Dale's cabin again.

It WAS a charming cabin!
We loved everything about it, clean and super comfortable… the decor, yard lights and setting had a great feel. Cabin had everything we needed/wanted. So much so that we overpacked. Hot tub was great for the first night and appreciated even more after a long day on the slopes. Close to Wisp and restaurants, this is absolutely an annual spot for us now! Thank you Dale and Sean!!

Cozy Cabin weekend
We had a wonderful time at this cozy cabin in the woods. It was a quiet area, but close driving to anything we needed. Our hosts were incredibly accommodating, giving us lots of information on the area and helping us with our questions. It was great to have actual people to deal with over some agency.
