'This was a lovely Inn. It was spotlessly clean everywhere and very well maintained.
The staff were all friendly.
The breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice for everyone.
We had a room in one of the ouside lodges with a bacony. These were in a block of 6, 3 at the front overlooking the grounds and gardens and 3 at the back with views of trees.
The back rooms had a problem with seeds from the trees dropping all over our balcony and on the seating area. I felt sorry for the room maid...

'Room was ok . Dull dark decor and v small television. Table light worked but wonky and carpet threadbare in some areas . Clean .
Check in was not very welcoming , lady seemed rushed and no pleasantries . Asked for more milk which didn’t get . Meal in the evening was good . Sticky toffee sauce was more like weak caramel. Decided not to stay the night so returned home so can’t comment on breakfast. Staff serving meal v good . '

Kamers zijn ruim en comfortabel. Helaas was de volgende dag onze kamer niet schoongemaakt en hier kwam niet echt een professionele reactie op, later wel excuses.'

'It was consistent with expectation and you get what you pay for. Which wasn't a lot. It served its purpose as an overnight stop-over before an early flight. Easy parking, convenient for LBA. Food awful. Bed was comfortable, room was clean but dark, shabby and rather depressing. Best bit - escaping into early morning sunshine.'

'Great stay in a great pub/inn in a lovely village. Originally we were looking for somewhere near York and picked this place at random – so got lucky. Decent-sized, comfortable room, the beer 'proper' Yorkshire, and the food was excellent throughout – we could have eaten almost amything on the quite extensive menu. 'I don’t usually post negative comments but feel on this occasion it’s require based on the room rate. Our room including bathroom was slightly tired and is in need of a refreshment and lacked your normal toiletries for this level of hotel.
The mini fridge compressors was very loud and as such led to both nights of poor sleep, not ideal when you book a weekend away to recover.
However, the main building was very beautiful and had a nice lounge to relax in the evening.'
