'Great bang for buck in Aguas Calientes. It's simple but sufficient. They provide an early breakfast for those entering Machu Picchu first thing. The service is great: the staff is very friendly, and had no problem holding our bags and letting us rest after doing the mountain and before our train. Note that it is right on the road to MP, so if you're not up at 5am to go up to MP, the passing buses will probably wake you up.'

'I stayed here with my husband and mother since we were going to Machu Picchu. It was a great place to stay since it was close to everything and the bus/trek to the mountain. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff was incredibly friendly and lovely! The only downside to staying here was that it was pretty cold at night, but I wouldn't say that it's a deal breaker at all.'

'There is no king bed available in the hostel although we booked for a king bed room. Apparently there is new ownership who tried to inform expedia of the mistake but they were not successful. However we were upgraded to a bigger room as compensation. The service was excellent. The property may need a bit of upgrade especially when the toilet didn’t flush too well. 'The staff was very nice and the hotel was situated right in the heart of town where restaurants, shops and an easy route to the train and bus stations that passed a lot of local stands selling items at great prices.'

'Someone was waiting for us at the train station to take us to Rupa. That was nice because the place is not easy to find. Also someone carried the luggage which was much appreciated while it's a very steep climb to the hotel. Rooms are nicely decorated and staff is very helpfull and speak good english. So a perfect place to stay. Only negative I can say is that the showers where not hot but that is realy the only thing. '

I had read this happened to others in a few reviews and I ignored it. I had been up since 4am, roaming around the sacred valley all day, and I was exhausted and dirty.
