Our goal is to have a wild, natural outdoor sanctuary for butterflies, birds, bees & whatever else wants to live in the yard. We have added native plants that attract many varieties - you likely saw a lot of Polydamas Swallowtails (black and yellow), Gulf Fritillaries (orange), and Zebra Longwings ( black and white) with some Sulfurs (yellow) thrown in for fun!

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We take all feedback seriously. Even when it's as inaccurate as yours is. We email each arriving guest a note asking about preferences and allergies so that we may be prepared for their needs. Your party did not respond to the questions. In addition, all of our policies are located on our website for easy access. Here are some that are on the page. 1.We are a pet-friendly hotel that allows cats and dogs. There is a specific disclosure on the policy page about cats. “Cat Allergies: We have had many cat-allergic guests stay at our B&B without incident but cannot guarantee you will have no reaction. Please note that innkeeper’s cats live in the back of the B&B's main house. Steel horse room occasionally has cats stay in it and air conditioning/heating upstairs is shared with Dancing Horse & Verona Room.” 2.The policy also mentions not eating in the room. We found Sprite cans and trash thrown on the floor, and a leftover pizza in the room. 3.In addition, coasters were removed from the antique end tables and they received fresh new rings, and in addition, somehow water was poured on another end table and the TV controller was soaking wet. 4. The guests in the same room you stayed in who checked in the day you left are happy with the exact same select comfort/sleep number bed - we can usually resolve challenges when notified while a guest is in-house and we provide phone numbers for assistance. It’s also interesting that you complained about the appearance of a lock-off room that you had not reserved or paid for. It was not set up for guest use, and you had to physically move table to even get into it. And why was the antique lamp put in there? If a guest want an earlier breakfast, we are always happy to accommodate. The sign-in form clearly states that breakfast starts at 8:30 am with a way to indicate earlier preference. Sorry you found it threatening when we sent you a copy of the form you signed for your review and yes - we did "kindly" request that you remove your review. It is definitely true that there is a sign on the Air Conditioning that states “When it is hot outside, if this is turned below 74 degrees Fahrenheit, the Compressor will freeze up and the Air Conditioner will cease to work until we let it defrost which can take several hours. Since you travel with a fan, it appears that heat is a challenge for you. Most people that travel with fans tend to also call hotels ahead of time to explain their needs. In our case, we tell everyone who calls that we have A/C shared between the three upstairs rooms and during summer, we keep the temperature around 76 degrees – and can go down to 74 degrees upon request. They then can make an informed choice as to whether or not to stay at our property. Safe travels!

Thank you very much for your kind review! The "wild" areas of the yard provide support for our certified butterfly garden, so it has a more "wild" look than a more traditional City landscape has. We recommend that people visit in summer for the best viewing opportunities. Gulf Fritillary viewing from late May - August, and Polydmas Swallowtail from July - September. Many other varieties also frequent our garden such as monarchs, skippers and more!
