My fiancé and I had a horrible experience at The Grove with our 3 month old baby back in late November 2022. Upon arrival we were told that the fire alarms would be going off the first 2 days of our 3 day stay from 10am-4pm. This was completely unacceptable for us given that we had planned on relaxing at the resort for most of our visit and I needed to do some work each day from the room. The most egregious part of it all was that nobody from the hotel had the decency to contact us in advance to warn us. The hotel staff’s suggestion was that we leave the hotel for the day so that we wouldn’t be bothered by the alarms. What a great idea; don’t spend the day at the resort we were paying for! In addition, within hours of checking in, the power and phones went out for hours and even after the power was restored, the phones continued to not work and there was no way of reaching any of the hotel staff by phone. As the night progressed, many of the guests in rooms close to us began to get very rowdy because of all the issues. At about 4am the very first night, not even a full day after checking in, we finally had enough and went to the front desk to checkout. We were assured that we would be given a full refund because of all the problems and if that was the case, I would have left and dropped the issue. But here we are over 2 months later and I have yet to receive the refund we were promised. I would never consider setting foot in this resort again after being cheated and lied to.
