'Great place. It was even better than we expected!'

'Space is beautiful and staff is helpful and friendly.'

'料理はとても美味しく頂きました。 昼とは別世界のように静かな空間で良かったです。 竹林含め朝からゆっくり散策も楽しめて、自然を感じることができました^_^ 早朝の散歩がとても気持ちよかったです。'

'This was one of my favorite places that we stayed. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room and hotel were clean. I would definitely stay here again and again.'

'食事も京都らしくて、大満足でした'

'Our room was clean and spacious. Finding it was a challenge for the local cab driver. The breakfast was just breads but I enjoyed the mugwort rolls! I’d recommend that they add a washer/dryer to some rooms. Also, the sleeping clothes were a little worn. Mine was missing an important button. The staff were friendly but it could be hard to communicate with them over the phone.'

'Beautiful property and great location'

'Breakfast ladies were great. If your darker than beige, you may have a different experience than others. They charged me twice the lodging rate, made it difficult to call a taxi, were suspicious and unwelcoming. The room itself had everything you wouls need. Is walkable to the train station about twenty minute walk, the location is near the dam so thats relaxing, theres a public bath that was obviously not for me but for more cherished guests, the grounds are good, the town is cute with lots of...

'Beetje verouderde kamers maar wel heel proper.'

'Als familie van 4 personen, 2 volwassenen en 2 tieners, hebben wij een prima verblijf gehad. Wij verbleven in een 4 persoonskamer met gedeelde badkamer en toilet. In de gedeelde keuken kun je alles gebruiken. De Ryokan is typisch Japans en een leuke belevenis. Prima service. Prachtige tuin. Restaurant in het hoofdgebouw. Bushalte en supermarkt op loopafstand. Met de bus 20 minuten naar Kyoto Station.'

'The Front desk and Concierge were amazing and set me up for an amazing Japan Adventure'

'We stayed in Room number one. It was incredible. It was such a wonderful experience to stay in a historic building that had modern amenities and a lot of space. The room decorations and sliding doors were beautiful. The living room overlooks the garden. Everything was clean. It was nice to have the communal food area to grab coffee in the morning and a light meal. Be aware that the room entrance for the room is right next to the lobby. There are stairs to climb to get up to the room. We will...

'This is only sort of kind of the whole property, Kyoto has very strict tax laws and needs to have a front desk and therefore part of the property is that, additionally the upper floors are inhabited, but none of that matters really because of how wonderful the people and the space are.'
