'Convenient location, close to Tsugaike and Iwatake where the property owner will drop you daily in the morning and pick up in the afternoon on request. The shuttle bus stop to the other resorts is a short walk from the accommodation. Alan is a good host and is very friendly and obliging. He picked us up on short request when we picked up our ski gear on the first day and dropped us off where we wanted to drop our ski gear on the last day. 'We were spoilt with first class attention and assistance from Andrew, the host, and staff. It is why we like to choose an owner establishment rather than a 'marbled foyer'. A warm lounge and wine and conversation to come back to at the end of an unbelievable ski day. Love the underfloor heating! The shuttle is quick, easy and flexible. The location is great and a short walk to and from dining options. We can't wait to get back!'

'The young owners of this property are very sweet, kind and really try to be helpful. They seemed that had not quite got the hang of being proprietors, but they are very likable. Compared to other places we stayed cluttered with not quite the same and amenities. The owner was very helpful when we got stuck in snow bank during a snowstorm via messages. If you get a chance, listen to Echo play the piano '

'I have never felt so at home away from home! The staff at Raicho Lodge went above and beyond to make our short stay as stress free and relaxing as possible! When we come back to Madarao I can’t imagine staying anywhere else! See you guys next season, Dan and Donna!'

'I really enjoyed my time at Dark Horse. The owner and staff are warm and welcoming, and helped out in many ways, both big and small. Breakfasts and dinners were good and the lounge/dining room was a comfortable place to relax after riding. It was great value for the money. I would recommend it, and would stay there again without hesitation.'

"Prijs kwaliteitsverhouding onder de maat; een gedateerd hotel van de jaren tachtig met veel vlekken op de vloerbedekking van gangen en kamers; matige Wifi en gedateerd airco systeem; badkamer verouderd. Rest van faciliteiten okay en ontbijt goed. Baliemedewerkers waren mijn boeking kwijt wat meer dan een half uur heeft geduurd om het op te lossen. Organisatie niet op orde: veel gasten moesten soms een uur staand wachten voor ze konden inchecken waaronder 80 plussers."
