Terrible service — refused my check-in without reason
I arrived at the hotel around 10:45 PM after a long, exhausting day of work. I had reserved the room online using my debit card, just to hold the booking — I was fully aware that I’d need to pay a $250 deposit at check-in, and I was totally fine with that.
At the front desk, one employee asked for the deposit — no issue. Then another staff member came over and asked for my ID. I showed her my valid government-issued ID, and without any explanation, she looked at it and said, “You can’t.” I asked why, and she just repeated, “You can’t,” and walked away. No explanation, no help.
Exhausted and confused, I went back to my truck around 11 PM and started looking for other hotel options. I called the hotel again, and thankfully spoke to another staff member from reservations who was shocked by what had happened. He stepped in and was able to help me check in — but by then, I had wasted time, energy, and had a very stressful experience.
The next morning, I spoke to the manager. She told me the reason I was almost denied check-in was because the employee thought I was underage. I’m 27 years old, and I had my driver’s license, passport, and health card with me. Everything was valid and current.
This whole situation was handled with zero professionalism and absolutely no courtesy. If that helpful staff member hadn’t stepped in, I would’ve been left stranded for no reason.
