'Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava). 'Melanie and Steve were such wonderful hosts at this spacious property in Pahoa! Melanie was incredible communicative and responsive, and Steve dropped by periodically to ensure we were doing okay or whether we needed anything. The space itself is very large - it could easily accommodate parents and two kids. It is a quaint, Hawaiian themed place that you can tell has been decorated with great care and shone with personality! It is about a half hour drive to Hilo and an hour to Volcanoes National...

'Beautiful spot, house is large, nicely furnished and decorated with a well stocked kitchen and other amenities. In a residential neighborhood, very friendly atmosphere and pleasant area to walk around. Pahoa is a quiet town, has a nice new grocery market and a few fun places to go out to eat or drink. We saw tons of whales go by from the lanai and enjoyed short day trips to Hilo and Volcano.'

'Beautiful private spot. Easy to get to, but away from most traffic. It is apparent the hosts enjoy people and making them comfortable. Lovely paintings done by the hostess. Most of the grounds are gorgeous gardens with beautiful evening lights. This is the cleanest place we stayed on the entire island. Pride is taken in every way. Highly recommend'

'We had a tournament in Hilo so we decided to stay at another location close to Hilo since we’ve recently stayed in Hilo. The location was great! 2-3 minute mile ride to wonderful beach views. The house was big and spacious! Every room had its own private full bath and balcony! The amenities were great, from the game room to the snorkel gear to the bikes provided! There was a Sunday market no more than 8 minutes away that was great! All in all if I come back to the big island I’m staying here...
