'I stayed at the Hillthwaite at the end of my tour of Scotland. The luxury feel was throughout the hotel. The room was small but very comfortable and perfect for my needs. The staff - particularly the dinner and breakfast waiting staff - were amazing. The whole place was very well run. The view from the dinning room was breathtaking too. '

'The hotel is old & a bit tired in places, but comfortable. Beds are comfy. Our room on the first floor was well ventilated, but the attic rooms are less so. A car is required unless you’re a good walker as it’s 1.5 miles from Bowness.'

'The Tennyson Room (Room 5) was beautiful. The view was stunning, there were no irritations (wonky toilet seats, blown light bulbs, badly scratched paintwork etc.) at all. The receptionist was a great guy - good for a laugh and engaging. Breakfast excellent.
Believe me - we are coming back it was superb. I have no connections with this place at all. It was so much better than the top of the range place we stayed at in Anglesey 2 weeks ago and cost £70 less.

"Niet te doen. Wat een oude zooi. Wel een ruime kamer en goed bed maar eigenlijk alles verder is slecht. Heel warm, bedompt en niet fris. En vooral heel heel heel veel lawaai vanaf de straat. Niet boeken tenzij je zelf graag tot laat op stap gaat. Wij dachten lekker in het centrum op loopafstand van de stad, maar dat viel dus tegen. Hadden beter naar de recensies moeten kijken.
