'We had a very enjoyable stay at the Scone Arms. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, and the improvements already completed look fantastic. Our room had been fully renovated and was clean, modern, and very comfortable.
The bar area has been completely updated and has a fresh, welcoming atmosphere. Work is still continuing on the restaurant and reception areas, but it’s clear the property is being transformed beautifully.

'Late booking due to funeral at short notice and price was good especially as breakfast was included.
Owner was exceptional, extremely polite & helpful.
Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and extremely generous & tasty (tables were even laid with cloth napkins).
Location also good - just a 10+ min walk to Wetherspoons & town centre after that.
Room was comfortable (good comfy bed) but furniture was a bit tired, hence the dropped star.
Another bonus was off-road parking at the front.
