I enjoyed the convenience of being close enough to walk to Plymouth landmarks. But I wish there was complementary coffee in the lobby especially in the morning. It was a major inconvenience to walk several blocks to get coffee.

Hello Ang,Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you felt that you needed to go so far for coffee, We do stock a coffee maker and all the accouterment for enjoying coffee in your room, as well as the restaurant on property were both options for you.

Don’t let those quaint historic photos of rooms fool you, our room looked nothing like it. This hotel is old and tired. There reception desk, lobby, elevator everything is run down and not at all well maintained. There Hearth & Kettle restaurant is closed. This is a sad run down place. They need to close for several months and renovate the entire experience. Open again when they are a historic hotel and not a run down dilapidated building. Sad so sad.

The Hearth n Kettle left in 2020 and I believe no longer has any locations open.We do not advertise them as being at this location . We do have a restaurant we have had CJs restaurant and the food is amazing. We have been undergoing renovations since last year and our rooms have all been newly renovated. I do apologize you did not enjoy your stay and do hope you will try us again in the future.

pool was not very warm being an indoor pool . macy temp was 76 . brought grandkids to swim in indoor pool couldn’t even do that !

For a party of four, not enough bath towels. We were using damp towels as a result. The pool towels were extremely skimpy!! Really foolish because then we just used more! The water in the pool was cold! Never warmed up. That's our last stay at John Carver. Too bad, we've stayed before but no more. Things have changed...

Pool heater was broken, and we were not told. The only reason to really stay at this hotel is for the pool. If we had known, we would have stayed somewhere else. We were very disappointed.

We were pleasantly suprised to see the rooms were updated vs. what was shown on their website. The hotel is walkable to the cute main street area & very close to plymouth rock. The hotel had an arcade which was a nice surprise as well. The pool was the downside and was one of the main reasons why we visited. The indoor pool water was very cold and my kids were only able to stay in it for less than an hour before their lips turned blue and they needed to get out. The hot tub was only for 16 which they were also dissappointed about.

Staff was very friendly and helpful and the room was clean. The pool area was very dirty in the afternoon when we were there and then worse the next morning. The rooms could use an upgrade with an old heater and ancient looking carpeting. The area around the building and right outside our window had trash and tarps hanging on the fences.

Was in a renovated room. Came out really nice. Only complaint we had was hot tub was broken. Someone broke switch , so no bubbles.

I planned a impromptu trip for my birthday with my 7 yr old. Picked this place cause of the water slide and Restaurant. The restaurant was closed, slide wasn't working. And the pool was ice cold.

I am so sorry about your unenjoyable stay the restaurant is closed for dinner on Monday and Tuesday but it is open daily for breakfast during the offseason. Unfortunately we cannot turn the slide on unless a lifeguard is on.

The room was nice, we booked this hotel because of the really cool pool for our child and we went to go use it and it and there was clumps of hair and a film on the entire pool. We were told by a guest that the pool was not working, i wish that there had been a sign or post on the door. It was a huge let down for a young child. We ended up going to the small arcade located on the same floor so she got to have some fun. Just really disappointed about the pool situation that was the main reason for choosing this hotel. After a 4 hour drive looking forward to relaxing and playing in the area

Our 1st time here was not the experience we had expected! We pull up and seems like construction was going on. Seemed as 1 door to come in but 2 to leave. The heat in the room didn’t really seem hot enough. The pool was COLD and the hot also when I brought it to their attention they claimed they had someone working on it clearly they didn’t. We came here for the pool and hot tub! They ran out of towels to dry off with. We ordered food to go and waited 45 minutes for a cold burger and fries.

We enjoyed our second stay on the property. We stayed in a room that was recently renovated, clean and had everything we needed (except a hair dryer). The pool is perfect for young kids and the lifeguard was on top of everything. The location is perfect, having the ability to walk to all the local shops and places to eat.

It was okay to break up the vacation for the kids, but I wouldn't come back. The phone didn't work, The alarm clock didn't work, the first day the kids could use the slide with a floatie the second day they couldn't. I think that it was just a very inconsistent stay. The guy that checked us in had a huge attitude but the girls the second day were very nice. If you leave the property you need to have your key on you or the door is locked which thank God I had on me when I came back around 8 pm which nobody's told me. The pool was small but okay, there was never any towels in the pool towel bin both days , and you can't bring the ones from the room. The rooms also looked absolutely nothing like online either. I'd give it about a 4/10.

It was nice for a quick night out with the kids but wasn’t very clean, definitely outdated. The pool area smelled like chlorine so bad that it was hard to breathe. And there were shipping containers all around the parking lot. Was a mess. Staff was sweet.

The halls and pool area were not clean. The carpets need a vacuum and professional cleaning. I know it's tough with the amount of people that frequent these areas but vacuuming 2x a day would help. The glass on the door to the pool and main entrance were filthy. We woke at 9:01 to hammering. It would have been nice if we were made aware of this before hand. We go a few times a year and I don't remember it like this. I'm hope it will be addressed for future guests. The staff is always amazing and helpful.
