The Sanctuary

Our stay at the Stonehouse was perfect. The accommodations were beautiful, spacious, clean, secure, and well appointed. The gardens and grounds were magnificent and provided a lovely setting for us to play outside with our grandchildren and have all our family meals. A must if you are planning to visit Oregon City!

We decided to book The Stonehouse based upon the unbelievably beautiful setting and appearance of the property, although we wondered: could this place be as amazing as it appears? What others said in prior reviews seemed to confirm what the pictures and description of the property conveyed. Now that we have stayed at the house, we can also say the same. If you are interested in a very quaint and private VRBO in an gorgeous natural setting, look no further! We found this property to be exceptionally clean with everything we could think of to make the stay comfortable and relaxing. The owners are impeccable hosts, working so hard to make your stay the best that it can be, interested in attending to every detail. The surrounding area is very walkable/hikeable and we enjoyed the park near the property, as well as walking to explore the surrounding area. The Stonehouse truly was a home away from home, but even better, as our back yard cannot compare to this one!

The setting here is so beautiful. The grounds are immaculate and tended to very lovingly. The apartment was stocked better than any VRBO we have stayed at in the past.. It also looked exactly like it was advertised. Owners were wonderful.

Spectacular setting, wonderful hosts

This property is in the most spectacular setting possible. On the ridge above the Willamette River with views of the entire valley including all the area mountains and downtown Portland. Spectacular sunrises AND sunsets right from the property. Easy walking access to the view point (that you can also drive to) from a trailhead just by the driveway. There is a beautiful outdoor table with 6 chairs, a gas fire table with 4 cushioned chairs, a fire pit with several chairs around, a tire swing!!, flawless landscaping, and the mist goes on. The inside property is very clean with all the modern amenities and everything you could need. The hosts were very prompt in responding to any questions. They were also very kind in giving recommendations for other things to do and see while in the area. Highly recommend!!
