'Rustic hotel accommodation right on beach, 10 minute drive out of Arugam Bay. Tuk Tuk accessible. Basic accommodation with wifi only in verandah of our unit (11), and in dining area. 'Booked this hotel through Expedia prior to my trip, when I landed in Colombo I received a text message from a French (+33) number saying that my booking at The Coconut would be cancelled, and that the prices I had booked were no longer valid! My only choices were to cancel the booking or pay the "new prices" which were 3x higher!

'There was a problem with our reservation as apparently hotels.com bookings do not transfer over to the hotels system and therefore they had no record of our booking. This meant that they did not have the rooms that we had booked available. The hotel owner/manager was very helpful in finding us different rooms but these were not what had been reserved and meant that we had to separate family members which was not ideal for a week. 'Parfait ! Tout est parfait, la location, les repas, le staff et mention spécial au propriétaire qui nous a donnait pleins de conseils, d’endroit à tester, il nous a arrangeait un safari, le transport et … nous avons tellement aimé que nous avons changer nos plans pour y revenir durant notre séjour.
La location est parfait à 2mn en scooter de tout, en étant dans un endroit calme avec piscine et en bord de mère.

'The Danish Villa is set in a peaceful garden away from the road and staffed by friendly staff. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable.

'Das Zimmer war in Ordnung, aber nichts Besonderes, und leider hatten wir ziemlich viele Ameisen. Hier sollte definitiv nochmal nachgebessert werden. Ein paar Dinge, die ich als Verbesserungsvorschläge hätte: Ein Mülleimer im Bad, eine Badematte, eine Klobürste, eine Seifenschale sowie Duschgel und Shampoo wären super. Ein Moskitonetz über dem Bett wäre auch eine tolle Ergänzung!
