Oceanfront Cottage Aan de kant van de aarde, St John's

RedHouseNL, 21 Castella's Lane, is een mooie, gezellige oceaan huisje ligt op de kliffen van Pouch Cove Newfoundland, met uitzicht op de N Atlantische Oceaan. Boven het biedt 2 slaapkamers (queen bedden) met een fantastisch uitzicht op de oceaan, een kleine zithoek voor koffie of lezing met het oog en een complete badkamer met bad / douche. Beneden is een volledig uitgeruste keuken, woonkamer met houtkachel, een 'studie' met boeken en een full-size futon die uit kan vouwen voor een 5e gast, en een tweede badkamer uit de studie met een douchecabine. De woonkamer is helder, open en ruim, met prachtig uitzicht op de oceaan. Van de kant van de woonkamer is een eetkamer met grote rustieke tafel zeer geschikt voor maaltijden, games en ik durf te zeggen het werk ?!
Het huis heeft ook een groot dek van de achterkant, met 4 Adirondack stoelen om te genieten van het landschap en misschien een glimp opvangen van de walvissen en dolfijnen cruisen door. Een gangboord uit de eetkamer is uitgerust met 2 lounge stoelen voor meer van hetzelfde!
Een steenworp afstand van East Coast Trail. Korte rit naar de plaatselijke stranden. 25 minuten rijden naar het centrum van St John's.

We Loved Red House!

Every aspect of our stay was wonderful—communication with Chris and Kelly, ocean views from the deck, bedrooms, living room and dining room, ease of check-in and check out, fully equipped kitchen, availability of washer and dryer. The views really deliver!

Had an excellent stay! Property was clean and well stocked. Easy drive to St Johns Airport and downtown. The views were unbeatable....we even saw a couple of whales in the cove one night! Definitely one of the best places we've stayed, hope to come back again when we aren't doing tours in town so we can just enjoy the views the whole time.

We enjoyed this perfect location for sitting on the edge of the rocks and watching and listening to the ocean .Lots of trails to hike and also being close to St Johns for a more busier day. The front deck was our favorite place, to relax and read and just sit.

This stay exceeded my expectations! The home is clean, very comfortable and charming. The hosts have thought of everything. We felt at home right away. But the view and the location are so beautiful you can hardly leave the deck. We absolutely loved our time there and would return again in a heartbeat!

Lovely Place in Pouch Cove

This was a great place to stay on the Avalon Peninsula. The cottage was immaculate with a terrific ocean view. Beds were comfortable and everything worked. Close to St. John's, hiking trails and nature.

Top 10 most beautiful place on earth

The Red House is a gift to your soul. The peacefulness envelopes you upon arrival. The views off of the back deck and surrounding community are breathtaking. The house itself has everything you could possibly need. It’s so comfortable and inviting. The hostess Kelly was so thoughtful and kin. I can’t say enough.

Comfortable, peaceful house overlooking the sea

This was our second stay at the Red House and as delightful as the first. The house is light and calming and generously equipped with everything you could possibly need. Proximity to St John’s and the Irish loop is a plus but the highlight is coming ‘home’ to enjoy sitting on the deck - with a book, a coffee, a glass of wine, binoculars to take in the birds and the whales. Thanks again to Kelly for her warm welcome - we hope to be back again.

Perfect Getaway

Had a stay in mid September--lots of amazing weather to experience: hot, cool, stormy, calm, hazy, crisp. Enjoyed the deck and sun and the cozy fireplace. So close to the East Coast Trail for great hikes. Had friends come for some meals and it was a great space to visit and enjoy. It feels remote yet safe. Really comfy beds--but older or little folks might want a step ladder to climb into them! Kelly and Chris were so welcoming and understanding about a hiccup with VRBO. It's a wonderful home in a perfect location. I would definitely come again!

Could not have been better

If you want a nice house on a nice property in a nice town and a friendly responsive owner, this is a the house for you. The views in every direction are breathtaking. Pouch Cove is a very walkable small town with friendly people. The house is very well equipped including extra jackets and Bose bluetooth speakers that I paired with my phone daily. A shout out to Sharon who did a fantastic job of cleaning the house before our arrival. My only regret is that our stay wasn't longer.

Icebergs, whales, eagle…Oh My!

Thank you Chris and Kelly. The Red House was perfect!! We enjoyed our evenings by the fire and watching the whales and icebergs from the deck. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen so we could spend several evenings cooking dinner and relaxing after beautiful hikes that we walked to from the house. We enjoyed our stay at the red house. The views were fantastic (when the fog cleared), the house was cozy and well equipped, beds were super comfortable, the only thing we didn't have was lobster crackers! Pouch Cove is pretty much the last stop heading north on the Avalon Peninsula, so it's pretty quiet, exactly what we were looking for in a relaxing vacation. Thanks to Chris and Kelly for a great stay.

Home away from home

The Red House was really a home away from home. We loved every minute there. The house had everything we could have wished for. We had a little hurricane for 2 days and were just watching the weather and the sea from a very comfortable living room. We can highly recommend a stay there and will come back for sure.

Spectacular views and people!

Nothing quite prepares you for the stunning views of the ocean! Everything about this vacation property was perfect for our family. It is located far enough away from everything else to provide a great getaway but, it is close enough to Pouch Cove and a short drive to St John’s. Bonus, the East Coast trail is within walking distance and definitely recommend for the views! The owners Kate and Chris are fantastic people and communicators! They were always quick to respond to any questions we had and let us in on where to pick wild blueberries. With respect to the Red House…well, what can I say? Spectacular views and although old is modernized, clean and everything works! Throughly enjoyed our stay and was regretfully too short! Would definitely recommend to anyone!
