Dear Marvin, thank you for your feedback. According to your review I assume you stayed in Citadel apartment. All other flats have two layers of curtains, one light day curtains and one heavy dark for night. Only Citadel is exception with one layer of light curtains as it is on top floor and we actually wanted our guests to enjoy that is our lighest room. Toilet is private on the floor which is only for this apartment. We offer cleaning upon a request as many guests don´t wish to be disturbed during their stay. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback. As we are in historical building, we are not allowed to build a lift without a permit from preservation department. We have already applied and waiting for permit, so hopefully in an early future our guests will be able to ejoy the lift. When you pick up the key, there is a lable with name of the apartment and floor written on that. Thank you

I am sorry you had troubles finding the apartment. There is a name of the apartment written on the keys together with a floor number and the name is written on the door as well matching with keys. But I understand that all floors and doors look the same, maybe it can be confusing. Apartment is small with minimalistic design, so we have a bathroom mirror and then one big one in the first floor at the hall. Thank you

We are also very sorry that you have not contacted us in any way before leaving the premises and have refused to talk to us afterwards, which is why we feel this reviews is not reflective of The Emerald. We do not advertise having an elevator in the building and it is in fact not possible to include in your Expedia.com nor Hotels.com profile a list of facilities we do not have. We believe that if a customer requires an elevator, he or she will make sure the hotel has it and we do not. However, we have asked for a permit to build an elevator in the near future, therefore anyone visiting us in a year's time will have the pleasure of using one. The Emerald is a collection of 13 flats, each one with a different style. We recommend each guest to choose carefully, as the styles are quite distinct and every person has a different taste.The high standard of our accommodation is reflected not only in our overall ranking but also in us being featured in numerous fashion, design and travell magazines. In fact, Citadel, the appartment of your choosing, is our most popular appartment and has been featured in places such as Conde Nast Traveller, which frequent travellers are very familiar with. The industrial, rough design is in fact very intentional. However, rest assured that it passes all the health and safety measures, which we can easily provide our guests with upon request. Therefore, we are very sorry to hear that you have not enjoyed the by-you-chosen design, however, for next time you can always take a look at our instagram page to make sure your choice is the right one for you. We are very sorry about a mild odor in the room, which was caused by a visit of the plumber the previous day, which we were not infomred of in advance. This is the reason we have proposed a partial refund and we are very sorry about this experience. However, have we been contacted about this, we could have found an alternative. Our profile clearly states, that the toilet is outside of the room itself, yet the halway is private, with no other guests present, and the bathroom can be locked. Our windows are at the standard-window height and therefore guests can enjoy the sunlight in the morning, while also admiring the view of beautiful Prague. We are sorry to hear you believe this to be dangerous, but rest assured that no accidents have taken place as a result of our window height. We are sorry to hear that you have not contacted us about our breakfast options, as we offer a lovely breakfast set-up in the appartment, upon request. We acknowledge that there is always room for improvement and that is why we are currently working on a project to upgrade The Emerald, by installig an elevator, air conditioning and concierge services, which will be available upon request. We strongly believe in The Emerald brand and are, therefore, sorry that you have not fully enjoyed your stay with us.
