'The island is peaceful and beautiful, and the restaurant serves delicious food. On certain days of the week, they offer a buffet, but it’s overpriced considering the quality and what you get. 'The resort is nestled in the rain forrest. Monkeys and butterflies everywhere. The beach is magnificent and calm (no music, no motorized water sports, thankfully!). The pools are nice and so are the showers etc. The restaurants are good although rather expensive. Breakfast was great. Only downside was the lack of functioning salt dispensers. 'Wij hebben het ontzettend naar onze zin gehad bij Ambong Ambong. En dit is zeker ook mede te danken aan het personeel. Zij doen werkelijk alles om het je naar de zin te maken. De weg naar de studio's is behoorlijk steil, maar ze willen je altijd met de auto halen en brengen. Ze zijn altijd vrolijk en bijzonder vriendelijk. Het ligt prachtig tegen de berg aan en je hebt een prachtig uitzicht op zee! Dan natuurlijk de natuur. Alles is daar behouden gebleven. De apen die 's morgens op je dak...

'Really amazing place. If you are up for a super relaxing stay, Ambong Pool Villas is a great option. Super helpful staff are reachable via WhatsApp all day to provide service and advice. You can choose meals in your villa or in the resort restaurant. The villas are meticulously cleaned twice a day, including the pools (to remove leaves etc). The view of the surrounding environment from inside the villa is enhanced by huge windows that face the pool. Lots to observe, both flora and fauna....

'Heerlijk hotel met fijn zwembad en direct aan het strand. Schone, ruime kamer en een fijn bed. Je mag elke dag gratis gebruik maken van de minibar en ook krijg je elke dag verse chocolaatjes van de housekeeping. Het ontbijt is prima en wisselt elke dag, ook kan je gerechten los van de kaart bestellen. Vriendelijk personeel en ook de ligging van het hotel is prima. Wij hebben er een fijn verblijf gehad en ik zou het zeker aanraden!'

'Sehr großes sauberes Zimmer, mit großem Balkon, sehr ruhig gelegen. Etwas abseits vom Trubel, was uns jedoch sehr gut gefiel. Kleine Läden, Lokale und Warungs mit leckerem Essen in Fußnähe. Mr. Ong ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Danke für alles!'

There was mold throughout the bathroom, the sealant was black, the bathroom cabinets were falling apart, and the air conditioners were so noisy that it was hard to sleep. We heard similar complaints from other guests. Also, be aware of the boat schedule—it can be tricky, especially when arriving"
