The Space:

Lara Grove Cottage 1 by Tiny Away is located in Purdeet, just an hour's drive from Ballarat and 49 minutes from Warrnambool. Enjoy a relaxing farm stay while exploring this coastal city along the Great Ocean Road, known for its vibrant arts scene, beautiful parks, outdoor adventures, and the annual arrival of Southern Right Whales for winter calving.



Nearby attractions include Hopkins Falls, the charming coastal town of Port Fairy, and Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve. We're also close to the Grampians National Park, Mt Rouse in Penshurst, and just a short drive from both Port Fairy and Warrnambool.



This 139-square-foot tiny home is nestled in a peaceful paddock, offering beautiful sunrise views and the chance to watch our Highland Cattle graze nearby. It includes easy access to water, split-air conditioning, a kitchenette with cooking equipment, and an excellent bathroom. Amenities feature an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste tank, a hand basin, and a gas-heated shower.

Guest Access:

Guests will have access to our cozy tiny home and the main paddock. But will have restricted access to our sheds and other paddocks. We also “HOST FARM TOURS”, where guests can meet the pigs and cattle—with 24 hours’ notice.

Lara Grove Cottage 1 by Tiny Away is a peaceful farm stay located in Purdeet, just an hour’s drive from Ballarat and 49 minutes from the coastal city of Warrnambool, where you can explore local shops, eateries, and exciting activities.



From our tiny house, explore local highlights including Hopkins Falls, a scenic spot perfect for picnics, fishing, and nature walks. The Grampians are renowned for their stunning waterfalls, while Port Fairy is a charming coastal town known for its beautiful beaches and water sports. Hamilton, the "Wool Capital of the World," is just 30 minutes away, beyond the town of Penshurst.



Getting Around:

By car:



- 21 mins drive from Dukeld

- 30 mins drive from Hamilton

- 51 mins drive from Port Fairy

- 10 mins drive from Penshurst

- 49 mins drive from Warrnambool

- 1 hr and 6 mins drive from Halls Gap

- 3 hrs and 23 mins drive from Melbourne. All are accessible by 2WD.



By public transport:



- There are taxis in Hamilton that do come our way but it is quite expensive.

- Vline runs a bus and train service from Melbourne to Hamilton through either Ballarat or Warrnambool.

- There is no public transport past our property, access would be by private vehicle. However, we would offer pick up from Penshurst for a fee.



Other Things to Note:

- Gas BBQ Grill is available

- No smoking allowed on the property

- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed

- We are happy to provide breakfast ingredients at an extra cost

- Telstra and Optus have good signals and the rest have no signal

- We do have dogs on our property but they will not be close to the tiny house

- Bacon, eggs, cereal, and toast with spreads for breakfast are available by prior notice

- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge



Guest Advisory



- Please note that our sheds contain sharp tools and machinery

- Guests will have restricted access to all paddocks except during farm tours.

- Guests will only have access to the main house in case of maintenance, repair, medical assistance, or "Evening with your Hosts" events.



Important note:



- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property.

- Keep in mind that BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban

- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
