'I love the TRU by Hilton chain! The hotels are fresh and looking modern and young. They’re clean and are also focused on younger people who do remote working. I always book a hotel from that chain and the one in Ashland was no exception. Breakfast is typically US, so not the best but super bad either.'

'Breakfast room was clean and beautiful and serving dishes were kept full. The pool was very clean and our request for connecting rooms was guaranteed. The rooms were very clean, but the soap and shampoo were not sufficiently filled and we just about didn’t have enough'

'It was a very nice hotel, clean bright great space front desk was very helpful. Really enjoyed the property. Recommended if you need a place to stay while you're in the Richmond area.'

'The hotel was very dirty and was not kept well on the outside. There was garbage everywhere. There was bugs. The bolt on the door didn’t work. The toilet ran very loud all night.'

'They are pretty much the only place in the area was an outdoor swimming pool for less than $100 a night. That being said, we overlooked the rude staff, and the fact that the rooms were only half-heartedly cleaned, and the criminal casing of rooms that the personnel were obviously a part of.... But a total infestation of cockroaches was the last straw. Pool or not, we will never stay there again!'

'I do not thing it is right to charge for parking at a hotel that is not in a big city where parking is at a premium. This was a hotel near a mall - and to charge for parking is just wrong.'

'The room was fairly clean. The desk staff tried to help but we had a party of 4 & the hotel had no sheets or blankets for the 2 individuals using the pullout couch. I asked the front desk twice & they had no blankets available either night. Since then I’ve messaged the property manager twice and corporate once; it’s been over a week & no response. We had to buy our on blankets to stay at a hotel; seems like this should have been a basic amenity for the number of guests we booked for the stay.'

'Great place to stay after a long day at Kings Dominion! Place was nice, clean, quiet! Front desk staff and housekeepers were all very nice and friendly! Breakfast was great and the lady stocking the breakfast was very nice and helpful! Will 100% stay again! Such a nice property tucked off the main road!'

'Breakfast was good. Could not use the pool, they said they couldn’t find the key. The bathroom toilet was loose, poor paint job and fixing a wall in the bathroom. The exit doors you had to go through down the halls to the rooms, slammed loudly at night and kept me awake. TV was hard to use. Price was higher than it should have been.'

'Be sure to lower your standards. Room looked like a crime scene. I don't even want to know how many people overdosed in that bed. Dirty, in disrepair, COCKROACHES IN THE MICROWAVE! We didn't even stay. Checked out within 20 minutes and got another room elsewhere and immediately took a shower. Just skip this place'

'Good location but mediocre operation. Not a single thing stood out but plenty of unpleasant moments. Check in was unclear and could have been more welcoming. AC unit rattled all night. Stayed for three nights and not once was the room cleaned, sheets cleaned etc. (this was unacceptable for the price we paid), side doors to enter the property were unlocked which was a security hazard, billing was tricky, twice we were given the wrong bill. Not a fan.'

'This is my go to hotel when I’m in Richmond. The location is outside the city but close to 95 making travel easier. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the rooms are quiet and clean.'
