Mooie oceaan 1 bed 1 bad, tweede verdieping condo

  • Gene en ik wonen in Portland, Oregon. We kwamen voor het eerst naar de Kulakane voor onze huwelijksreis in 1987 en dat maakt dit onze huwelijksreis naar huis. We hielden van Hawaï en keerden vaak terug, naar de Kulakane en naar andere eigendommen en eilanden. We bleven maar terugkeren naar de Kulakane als onze favoriet en. eindelijk hebben we hier ons eigen huis gekocht. We houden ervan en schatten onze weken in Maui elk jaar. Gene is een gepensioneerde gezondheidspedagoog en ik heb een makelaardij in onroerend goed in Portland, waar we mensen helpen om elke dag huizen te kopen en verkopen.

    Waar we het meest van houden is dat ons appartement direct aan het water ligt, met uitzicht op de oceaan en op een steenworp afstand van een strandwandeling. We willen graag op de tweede verdieping voor privacy en veiligheid en een meer direct zicht op het water. We zouden onze kostbare dagen in het paradijs nergens willen doorbrengen, behalve aan zee / strand. Waarom zou je anders hier zijn? We bezoeken de grote resorts in de buurt voor cocktails en het diner bij gelegenheid en keren graag terug naar onze kleinere, meer intieme en ocean view condo die ons recht op het water zette. De nabijheid van de oceaan is waar we eerst voor komen!

    We houden ook van koken en om thuis te zijn, dus de keuken is volledig uitgerust met alle nuttige en noodzakelijke hulpmiddelen. De Lanai is onze openlucht woonkamer. Het uitzicht is geweldig. We dineren hier, spelen spelletjes en lezen, werken op onze computers en vermaken vrienden. We stoppen nooit te genieten van het uitzicht op de oceaan en zwoele briesjes.

    Ik hoop dat je net zoveel geniet van ons kleine stukje paradijs als wij.

Our first visit to Kulakane Condos

I think we took more pictures from our Lanai than any other locations. We saw dozens of Humpback Whales. Several breaches. Classic views of flukes. One displayed continuous tail slapping behavior. Sea turtles fed within 10 yards of the seawall. One night I got a beautiful picture of the moon's reflection on the water between the palm trees. Everyone needs to do the Kulakane traditional "conch blowing" at sunset. Everyone we met were repeat visitors. We saved a ton of money by eating most meals using the full kitchen. 45 minutes before we checked out, Kulakane gave us a fond "Aloha" with a very bright full length double rainbow.

Heaven awaits you at the Kulakane

A couple things that impressed me, besides being right on the beach and watching/hearing the waves all day & night, was the cleanliness of the unit. I always judge a place by their paper products too. Good T-paper and kleenex! While it was obvious to be an older unit, it was well maintained and contained everything we needed for a comfortable stay. If you plan to do much cooking, there is little counter space, but our style was minimal so we made it work. The view from the 2nd floor was beautiful, but it also seemed like the ground floor noise funneled up to our lanai based on the style of the building construction. However, it was never too annoying. Pool was quite small but there were a couple access points so one could easily swim in the ocean. All staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Great BBQ area and nice place to meet some of the other guests, many of whom came from our home state of Washington. Every unit is dependent on how the owner furnishes, but ours came with snorkeling equipment.....would stay away from Boss Frog if you need to rent. Driving the island was easy with lower limits than we have locally making it less stressful. Do take into consideration the maps that indicate the type of road you are driving on. There can be some extremely narrow, windy roads that only allow for one vehicle at a time. Would not hesitate to stay there again.

The community of residents is welcoming and inclusive, and the management staff is awesome!

first time in maui

Reviewer Comments: Very nice and comfortable condo within short walking distance to shops and restaurants. My husband and I found the ealy morning garbage trucks and traffic noise loud as our units bedroom window was right across from the recycling and garbage cans.The lack of air conditioning wasn't a problem for us as the wind kept us cool. I like to swim but found I cut myself on the rocks a few times as the wind was up and caused the sand to churn up and make the visability poor. We drove to another beach which was not too far to swim and snorkle. the barbques were great, the grounds and laundry room where very clean and tidy. We found the carpets where a bit old so felt a bit grubby and the pillows on the bed weren't that good.We were so lucky to see two whales from the lanai which is unusual in November. The veiws and sunsets where fantasic and not a day would go by without seeing a husband and I thought the bill was reasonable.People looking for a laid back vacation,who happen to be heavy sleepers, would be happy with Kulekane.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There is nothing I can think of that would have made our stay more enjoyable - it was enjoyable and exceeded our expectations with everything. The staff is friendly and professional, the property clean and well maintained and the view from the lanai was priceless. The location is convenient to all parts of the island for exploring, plenty to choose from for activities, or playing on the beach in front of the resort. Definitely a 5 star experience and location.
